Like those old photos, most documents of the legendary Baltimore Colts- New York Giants 1958 NFL title game -- the game that launched pro football into American sports ascendancy -- have existed in black and white. But producers of ESPN's documentary The Greatest Game Ever Played (9 p.m. tomorrow) have pieced together footage of the game for this 50th anniversary special and colorized it. The fact of the matter is, though -- just like in the song -- it is hearing the recollections of the grandpas that truly brings this event into living color. ESPN Films took players from that game (and a selected few others) and matched them with current Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants, the teams that have won the past two Super Bowls -- among them: Art Donovan with Michael Strahan, Raymond Berry with Tony Dungy, Lenny Moore with Brandon Jacobs, Pat Summerall with Adam Vinatieri, Gino Marchetti and Frank Gifford with Tom Coughlin. This could have come off as nothing more than a gimmick, but it is what most makes the documentary worth watching. The modern players let the old-timers do most of the talking, but the younger men are unfailingly respectful and seem genuinely thankful for the legacy built by the players from the 1950s. To quickly address what is probably a concern for many old Colts fans: Yes, the documentary acknowledges the departure of the team for Indianapolis. And it might not sit well with some of you to hear Colts coach Dungy say, "We feel a bond to that '58 team." But listen to it in the context of the show, and it sounds perfectly right. Dungy is an asshole... ESPN you have done an injustice to the Baltimore Colts Fans. more Hey Dungy, you should of had a bond with your kid!!!!!!! Football is an Effin GAME!!!!!!!!

Say what you want about BB but Cameron's got one huge advantage, something Billick never had... That turned out well for us. Lets not forget he only had Moss & Pepper for 1 season, and hell I could throw the ball to that freak and he'd get me a raise.

Even with Tex, this team is not going to compete in 2009. So if he is going to ask for absurd numbers, beyond his value, why should we pay them? Because he's a hometown boy and the fans want him so bad? I mean, don't get me wrong, good PR never hurts and I want Tex... but not at any cost. Good condition Colts team signed balls were fetching 25,000. If you need the money, sell it, but I think Baines is going into the HOF. it would bring more value when Baines gets in. Very interesting tid bit out of Vegas..The point spread for our game opened up as the Ravens favored by 1 point..By Wednesday afternoon, 68% of all money bet in Vegas was placed on the Stealers +1 point..So naturally, if Vegas wants to break even, they would "move" the point spread to Even or at 68% the Steelers would deserve to be favored by 1..But what did Vegas do, the made the Ravens 2 1/2 point favorites for Sundays game.
