    Hey Va

How did you draw the conclusion that January of 2001 has no historical interest to me? I merely pointed out your list was not of all the eclipses that have occurred, just ones of historical interest. If you check Force's list of every eclipse it will state there have been others since then and will be more in the relatively near future.

    Hey Va

Yes in black and white right on top of the page your link is of it states "Lunar Eclipses of Historical Interest" with the reason for that one being listed as 'First Total Lunar Eclipse of the 3rd Millennium'. Force's links are also from NASA and list the eclipses for each year, not just ones of historical interest. Lunar eclipses are not that rare.

    Hey Va

I was scratching my head, I thought they were more common than he said. I do agree that they are cool and watched the beginning of it last night.
  5. This or the Steeler win is the best for me. Even though it wasn't pretty, they really played hard and won a game they needed to win today. Feels good.
  6. That was a tremendous pass. Joe normally handles the blitz very well in my opinion. That's a strength of his.
  7. I am happy because the Saints are a quality team and the first win against a quality team in a long time. So for right now I am happy. In a day or two when I think about the lead we blew, the stagnant 2nd half offense, and the confused play in the red zone the second half then I might have more to say.

    Ray Rice

Ray Rice pretty much was the offense today. He did it all. That was a beautiful TD catch. Awesome throw by Flacco too. Willis was pretty good too. We ran well most of the game.

    Week 15

Have fun Dee! If the Ravens win today I will see that as a reason to be optimistic for the rest of the season. Believe it or not I generally am, I just havent seen any reason to be from this team the second half.
  10. Well re figure it dropping the two worst weeks from all the QBs in the NFL, not just Joe's, and post how it all ends up. Surely you agree you can't drop Joe's worst weeks an use the rest to make a fair comparison.
  11. Our fans for the most part are fine. A lot expected improvement and have been disappointed it hasn't been there or hasn't been as big as we expected or hoped. Doesn't make them fickle or bad fans.
  12. Just another example that the pro bowl is a joke.
  13. You're right. Its not a fun recovery and they didn't want me doing any exercise at all for a month. Getting into game shape may not be the easiest thing for a player to do.
  14. "Stop being a pessimist. Be an optimist. Be happy with where we are." Coming from the guy who questioned why he even came back this season a few weeks ago.

I worry about the Bengals, not because of their offense or Carson Palmer but because how badly Marvin Lewis's defense befuddles Flacco. Hopefully they have packed it in at that point in the season.

I think we will be 10-6 and make it in. I don't see us beating the Saints and I wont believe we can beat the Bengals until we do.
  17. Both. Small glass half full. This is a decent team that should make the playoffs but probably not go far. This is not a good team. The half empty part to me is that despite supposed improvements this team is not markedly better or even better at all.
  18. I think Flacco looks great when his primary is open, he throws nice crisp passes quickly. If the primary is covered Joe either tries to force it or gets confused and slows down and seems to fall back on rookie mechanics. If we had a psychic OC who could call plays where the primary is always open then Joe would be awesome. Its when he has to look, read the field, and think that he has problems. I think personnel is more of a problem than play calling, though I admit that could be better.
  19. As long as we continue to not pick blitzes up well and rarely make other teams pay when they blitz, we'll continue to get blitzed often and be hurt by it.
  20. Sam Koch had a good game and was my MVP. Everyone else, once again, played half a game. Its a good thing we were playing a team around our level and not a very good one.
  21. I don't want to say he is a failure, I hope he improves and is the Ravens QB a long time. The problem I have is that I don't think he has improved very much at all since his rookie year. You say you see it, I really don't. Part of the problem is his slow reads (or non-existent at times) and still his rookie mechanical mistakes. If he started as a sucky rookie and worked his way up to being average at times I would be happy. However I feel he was decent as a rookie and no better than decent now. In comparison while Joe is better now that Boller is or ever was, I did see a lot more improvement from Boller his first few years than I have for Joe. Decision making wise, if as it has been reported Joe is not allowed to change the play or audible at all then there is a reason for that the coaches see and its not that they are worried he'll be too good at it. I don't like what I see, and I wish I felt differently but I do think I am being fair.
  22. The Texans do not cover the RBs very well so I think Joe will be able to dump the ball to Ray Rice 8-10 times hiding his lack of development as a QB. Ravens 24-14.
  23. I think they were not back from halftime yet....the seats looked filled a while later. Im not judging either way, if I had tickets and it was raining as hard as it was when I got up today I am not sure I'd want to go. Carson with an awful INT for TD.
  24. Really? I had not heard that. It looks better now that it did a few minutes ago. I guess some were still in line for the urinals and beer.
  25. Is the attendance bad today or is everyone still away for halftime. Or watching from a covered spot somewhere.
