  1. I hate these types of games. The US is outplaying the Swiss and we have 18 shots to their 4. Sometimes it seems if a goalie is watching too long he gets cold and lets a bad one in. I'd prefer us to score soon!
  2. LOL the geniuses at NBC finally have a little excitement in their hockey coverage (and good ratings for the game Sunday) so they decide to tape delay todays game on the west coast. Tape delaying might have worked 15-20 years ago, but there are so many places to follow along now (or watch online) it should be an outdated practice now. Of course this means NBC will be doing for 20 more years.
  3. Im worried about Switzerland! Their goalie Hiller (an Anaheim Duck) is playing great. I hope they are tired from todays OT game. Either way I think the US has to play better than they did Sunday though one should think the US should beat them. No upsets today (though Norway is tied with Slovakia as I type this which could be big) but some great games. Latvia really showed a lot of heart tying up the heavily favored Czechs late in the game to take it to OT where they lost. Czechs look beatable al the sudden. Swiss beat Belarus in OT and Canada destroyed Germany.

Me too, Im 3/4ths of a way though playing Uncharted 2 on hard.
  5. It certainly is a young team with, when the team was chosen at least, seemed to have some odd choices on it. So far its working out and hopefully it continues. We were fortunate with some pretty poor defense at times. Its probably because a number of defensemen chosen were hurt and had to be replaced in the weeks before. The US did win Silver in 2002 so they have been recently competitive. The funny part of the seedings is that we cannot play Canada again until the gold medal game. Also if Canada beats Germany on Tuesday they will play Russia on Wednesday, which many thought was going to be the gold medal game. This means one of the two favorites will go home with no medal at all. Kesler got the empty net which sealed the deal. I am sure his 'home' crowd loved seeing that and cheered for him.
  6. It was a fun game, the extra day off will come in handy with so many games in a short period of time. The look and feel of this game was similar to a NHL playoff game. In years past with the bigger ice surface (this year they use a NHL sized rink) I dont think you could say that. That led to some people watching teams skate beautifully up and down the ice at the Olympics then turning on an NHL game and seeing a more crowded and slower game and perhaps being disappointed. The flip side is there was far less hitting in the Olympic games on the bigger ice. My one complaint is I think the network/commentators are exaggerating the degree of upset this game.

I dont think there was much of a problem with it. It was very well received and sold tons of copies and even sold a lot of DLC. It was a major success. I bought Oblivion because of Fallout 3, so I think people knew there was a similarity.
  8. .13 is a pretty high BAC, I'd say someone is definitely drunk at that amount.(i'll let you know later) According to the drinking charts thats about 8 beers in 2 hours. Or about 40 Coors Lights in 2 hours. http://www.ou.edu/oupd/bac.htm If I had any confidence in our receivers beside Mason I might either, I just think the bar has been set really low by who we have.

    LOST 2/16/10

LOL, I like him in this and cannot recall seeing him in anything else, but both my father and brother wont watch the show because they dont like him.
  10. Drunk driving is a huge mistake and no one should do it or excuse it. Period. There are ton of other things that are huge mistakes to do while in your car. If Stallworth had been texting while driving, sleepy, messing his his radio, and many other things I wonder if there would be this much anger at him, or if his penalty would be different. I know numerous people who dont drink and constantly bitch about drinking and driving who treat the roadways like either a race course or their own private offices, with chatting driving with one handthe whole time or even texting. Those are huge mistakes and problems too. But to me its not about drinking vs other offenses either, I just think he deserves a 2nd chance as most everyone does. Despite some claims, I dont know anyone that is perfect.
  11. He might be the best receiver on the roster now besides Mason. Its not a great move, but I think it helps somewhat. As for his legal issues, I don't know all the facts but he was sentenced and served both his time and a NFL suspension. Like Bisciotti said, I also think people deserve second chances.

Plus Burn Notice has Bruce Campbell, which is always a plus. Dont get me wrong, I like Burn Notice better, I just think Human Target is trying to emulate it in some ways and doing so successfully. Plus that one has Chi McBride in it and thats always a plus.

Burn Notice is a fun show. Have you seen Human Target? I ask because it reminds me of Burn Notice. Similar, fun popcorn action with a bit of comedy show.

Lost was great this week IMO as well. I like Dexter and Modern Family(great comedy) as well. Ed O'neill's wife on the show has a boyish flat figure though. I dont know what I would pick as the best right now, there are a number of shows I like. I think Fringe is really good. Big Love is tremendous this season.

    Snow!

Thats awful and completely unacceptable. So far I have been happy with FIOS but I am bracing for the first problem I have that I need to call someone about. Then again I was happy with Comcast except for the price. From what I hear both companies customer service sucks.
  16. Am I being too harsh to say Peyton is soft? He was very good today except for the few times he was put under pressure. Those times he rushed throws, narrowly avoiding INTs a couple times then throwing the killer one later. Maybe he is hurt and doesn't want to get hit. Not trying to pick on him, he is a great QB, but under pressure he looked bad today. Also I think any of the Saints receivers on their roster would be tops on the Ravens. What a grab Moore made on the 2 point conversion, and he is at least 4th on their depth chart. No one on the Ravens makes the catch IMO.
  17. I really like The Who, I always liked them better than The Beatles or Stones. To me their music never sounded as dated as the other two bands catalogs. Having said that, I thought they kind of sucked tonight. Let Prince do it again, he was the best SB halftime I ever saw.
  18. I cannot wait, love the start of baseball season!

I understand about the view. If you can just see your arm or gun its usually called 1st person, if you can see your entire character its a 3rd person game. If done well I dont mind which perspective a game is, however a lot of 1st person games tend to be confusing with their views at times. You may like the Uncharted games, they are 3rd person. They are kind of similar in tone and story to Indiana Jones movies, so while they are violent its not over the top or gory. Some levels are puzzle type levels, others are more action. MGS4 was great, but they have to do something about the cut scenes in the next one, whenever that would be. Some of these were 25-30 minutes long, thats a long time to be sitting there watching.

Is that all you would play? I thought it was really good, but I wouldnt buy any system for just one game.

I too thought Uncharted 2 was great, perhaps one of the best single player games I have ever played. I am glad you like Oblivion, I bought it cheap but have yet to play it. I really liked Dead Space. Infamous is a game that I really liked. Both PS3 Ratchet and Clanks have been fun. I liked Assassins Creed and hear better things about the sequel (the first just got a bit repetitive). Fallout 3 was fun and I have heard that compared to Oblivion. Resident Evil 5 started slow but I liked it by the finish. If you like first person shooters I enjoyed Battlefield:Bad Company, it was both fun and funny. A old game I really liked was Heavenly Sword, its really old and when I bought it I think I paid 14.99. The only draw back is that it is really short, maybe 10 hours or so.
  22. Seriously is the debate here whether Billick had a large positive effect on the Ravens or was he made to look good by other factors? If it is, and I am not a huge Billick fan, than its too silly of a topic for me to continue. Like him or hate him I think there is ample evidence that Billick did ( as in not just watched)very good here, and little evidence to suggest otherwise.
  23. We can disagree, but I think a head coach has a lot more influence on free agent signings than a 'limited' amount. I am sure most have some input in which ones we pursue, and the head coach can be a major draw or detriment to a potential free agent. Billick changed the entire make up and mind set of the team, ask any player who was around before he was hired and they all say the same thing. Remember at one point Ogden was rumored to want out because he didnt like the way things were run.
  24. Good move and not a step back to me.
  25. Are you saying who the coach is has no effect on free agent signings? Or that a coach has no input at all in drafting?
