  1. There are a lot of things here and I am sure I am wasting my time by commenting but I have nothing but time today. I have never been a Joe Flacco fan as most here can attest to but I never hated him either. Simply put I thought he was OK but not good enough to win it all. I was wrong. I still do not think he is one of the best but I am satisfied with his performance so far. Hes done decent to good with what he has to work with and the time he has been given. About his contract, the hit is not that big this year so blaming his contract just doesnt make sense. Also, and I know some of you will not be able to comprehend this, just because he is one of the highest paid players in the league does not necessarlily mean he is one of the best players in the league. The timing of his contract expiration, the recent sucess, and his age all hit a perfect scenario for him to get the contract. Again, I am not a huge Flacco fan but he got what he deserved relative to the marketplace. Look at Sam Bradfords contract. Schuab. Unless you want the Ravens to play by a different set of rules than the other teams in the NFL than the numbers line up to about where they should be. I do not know whether I think Joe will end up having a decent, good, or bad NFL career but I do believe in rewarding players for what they have done and accomplised (thats part of why the Boldin move annoys me) and he got the contract he deserved. And with all the variables involved in contract negotiation (age, cap space, etc) I think a player should be judged on how he is playing, not how he is playing relative to his contract.
  2. I feel about Harbaugh like I do Flacco. Do I think he is great? No. Does he suck? Absolutely not. He has had a good 5 years, 5 years! He has won a Super Bowl and a lot of "good" coaches never have. Playoffs 5 straight years, playoff wins every year. Thats just doesnt happen with a bad coach. I will be blunt now, forgive me if I offend you. Idiot fans think Harbaugh is on the hot seat or should be blamed for everything. Thats it. No one logically thinking things through would feel that way. His sucess and accomplishments earned him the extension, and I would still think that if I hated him. You reward players and coaches for what they have accomplised. The team has performed under him. Its that simple. Sure hes made mistakes, all coaches do. But overall he has done very very well. One day we will all hear somone scream in ecstasy when Harbaugh gets fired. That will be Papa rushing to his computer to post a thousand "told you so's" and "I didnt think he made mistakes". It will happen too, eventually. How many coaches leave on their own accord? Its rare. In 20 years from now I dont think (gut feeling) anyone would say how great of a coach he is or was, but so far his record speaks for itself. For fun take a look at rookie coaches who take over a losing team who have done better that Harbaugh has in his first 5 years.
  3. I'm so tired of getting owned like this. Over and over.
  4. I am dead serious in this. I have never on any message board seen someone who consistently makes himself look foolisher and foolisher (and foolisher) with each post and claim victory as much as this imbecile.
  5. Ummm, hello! http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/stats/ The Browns have scored touchdowns before. Dont be dumb. (literal humorless guy)
  6. Thats cool, I disagree with you but not by much. Thanks for clarifying.
  7. Not at all. I gave my opinion on the topic asked. Perhaps you do not know the meaning of 'evasion'?
  8. I do not disagree with either of you. I dont really mean specifically the Boldin move and I do think the Ravens generally make good moves. The person I was questioning was because his posts read to me that the team could never make any roster mistakes because "They attach their value to each player and they don't let anything deter them. It's for this reason, that it was and always will be the right thing.". I was just trying to see if I understood. I think the team usually does well with its moves, but I do think they can make bad moves and have at times.
  9. Its hard for me to guess how they will do but judging from the way they played the last four weeks I think its going to be difficult. I figure if they can go 7-2 they are in. If they can go 6-3 maybe they are in. I dont see that happening at this point. If they can win the next 3 I will start hoping again.
  10. Joe has had a good year so far, not great but good. I have to think it the talent around him was performing better and/or if Pitta was healthy that he would be having an even better year.
  11. But what if the Ravens let a player go because they think he is washed up and not worth the money and the following year he has a tremendous season - better than the replacement? Wouldnt that be a mistake? I do not mean Boldin, just a general example. And I am not trying to argue, just figuring out what you mean. I am big Ravens fan but I dont like them so much I think they always make the right roster moves.
  12. I would banish him, and I dont often feel that way about posters.
  13. Am I miusunderstanding or are you actually saying the Ravens will never make a mistake getting rid if someone?
  14. Thank goodness! I could not have dealt with this stupid fucking bigoted asshole for that long. The idiot starts a thread looking calling for OTR then accuses him off following him around. As far as I can tell he has started every single confrontation here. Most on purpose, some probably just by being a bigoted asshole. Beyond the disagreements, he has complained more about the site in the short amount of time here than I have ever seen anyone else complain. He also says other places are better..... there seems to be a logical solution to me....then again, this guy thinks calling a Hispanic man "Taco" is funny and good message board behavior.
  15. With my wife it was 26. She always had a gut feeling she would never make it to 26. She is well well (and well) past that now. I better password protect this tablet :-)
  16. Very well put, probably too far over the idiot bigots head but very well put.
  17. That looks good, though I admit I am kind of a Marvel geek.
  18. Less of this: controversial - giving rise or likely to give rise to public disagreement More of this: vacuous - having or showing a lack of thought or intelligence; mindless
  19. I'm in western MD and it's pretty cold the last few days. Snow showers for the list three days but nothing really laying.
  20. I worked for a real small company for years. Every single year from 2000 - 2012 my coverage cost went up. Sometimes a little, usually by a 3rd or more. Over the course of that time, a time when the economy was not good and many salaries were stagnant, the cost to cover my wife and I went from 6000 a year to 23,000 a year. Of that I paid half. Most years I looked for plans I could get myself. I could often find plans less than the full amount that I and my company paid, but they were all more than what my portion was - often by a lot. Health care cost are one of the reasons I don't work for that company any more. While hopeful I have no confidence that the new system will lower cost, but I have complete confidence that under the old system my costs would have gone up every year. In every election I have been able to vote in health care costs have been an issue, I fear it will be an issue in every election for the rest of my life.
  21. Yeah I do, fascinating creatures. I don't really understand your post, but I assume you got me good because you laughed at your own post. Well done.
  22. I like turtles
  23. Connor was cool. The long prologue as Dad was slow to me. Part of it was my fault. I didn't power up everything in the present as I played so I had to do them all at the end. That was a lot of cut scenes to watch at one time so that seemed long. I liked the homestead missions.
  24. Funny. I just finished AC3 two nights ago. I thought it was OK. It really dragged at times but had some fun stuff. I am sure I will get the next one at some point.
  25. I remember the "Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark" book! Great stuff, loved it as a kid. I think I had a sequel too but cannot remember for sure.
