  1. These are probably just camp bodies. Do any of them really have a chance of sticking?

Same question about our 6th-7th round picks.

Overall, and just from what I've read, I'd give our draft a C at best. Your opinions?

It's tough when you're drafting so far down in each round.

  2. Also, just read where Preston believes he could be a shutdown corner for us, which we haven't had in a long time. My concern is his size and tackling skills seem to be lacking from other sources I've been reading, but his coverage skills are sky-high they say.

Regarding rounds 2-3 and later, we need an OT or two and I think they'll draft at least one tonight. And when they do get around to drafting a WR I'd like to see them consider Rice from USC.

But, you guys know a lot more about college talent than I do. Who would you like to see?

I imagine Faalele is starting at RT.  I worry about who plays LT if Ronnie cant play.

I understand your concerns about Stanley but I think he can give us one more year. Faalelle is big and has some talent but I see him more as a backup or rotational guy. That's why I'm worried here...plus our depth is non-existent.

  4. One of the better picks they could have made given the run on OTs. But who is going to play RT this year? By that I mean who's ready at pick 62 to start at RT? I fear the answer is 'nobody'.

  5. If they haven't drafted by 11, I'll go to bed and see who they got on an iPad.

As for the evening...I'll look at ESPN here and there to see what's happening. I'm planning on watching a 'Yellowstone' season 1 episode tonight with my wife.

The only thing to really stop him, in the playoffs, was him; he got too stuck in trying to do too much in the passing game.

    Succinctly put and spot on.

  7. 27 is young enough to still improve, but as each year goes by it is more and more difficult to change. He did show strides of improvement last year as well as some foot-dragging at other times. IF he gets adequate protection this year, I think then we'll know if he is going to progress as a passer to the next level.

My biggest concern though with Lamar is can he get his timing down on the deep ball to open receivers? We left some deep gains on the field last year because he had trouble timing his throws to receivers who had a full stride on the defender, but the ball was overthrown.

I think the ability is there for him to do that physically, but has this become a psychological roadblock for him?

  8. Now all we need is for Lamar to throw the ball to him. He was open quite a bit last year, but the ball didn't come his way. He did drop a few and maybe Lamar didn't trust him?

  9. Good stuff in that post!

I'd be a happy camper if we can get Guyton at 30 and he turns out as good as they say he can.

Wide receiver speculations were intriguing though I don't want anybody who had a 12.5% drop rate in college.

It's going to be a tough choice should it come down to taking either Guyton or McAllister.
