  1. No, Kiper says he cant make all the throws, that aint going to cut it in the NFL..Dosent have zip on the out(sounds like pick 6)

He has a stronger arm than Aaron Rodgers did coming out of Cal. Watch the bowl game against Oregon - he can fling it just fine.

  2. You make a good point though, that's why I'm so frustrated with people that want to say Harbaugh sucks and Oz doesn't know what he's doing. They've clearly done alot of things right. I may not agree with all the decisions, however I cannot deny their results, so I'm just having faith that it's the right thing to do at this point.

I didn't love the Caldwell signing, but I do see what they may be thinking. They've earned their stripes.

I do feel bad for Lee, I assumed this would be the place where he would define his career for the better. Tough break for Lee, tough break for the Ravens.

Side note, do we have all of our draft picks this year? Have we traded some away etc?

A 4th for Evans. He didn't want to wait until April to start costing us.

  3. Has Kruger grown enough to replace JJ?

Kruger has had his moments, but JJ has been a mainstay on D and hasnt missed a game in 4 years. Thats some big shoes to fill.

One of those guys... McClain, Ellerbe, Kruger, Ayanbadejo, McPhee? or one of the other guys... one of them will be able to fill in for JJ, and we'll likely draft a guy or two as well - and likely one in the first two rounds.

As much as we've struggled to find WR's, one place we haven't struggled is finding hardnosed linebackers to play next to Ray. From Sharper and Boulware to Hartwell and Scott, to Adalius Thomas and JJ... one position that we've consistently gotten success from have been the LB's. Either we'll draft some guys, or grow some of our own. I wouldn't worry about that one.

  4. Agree on the "IT", however everyone benefits from having someone to assist with breaking down film etc. Think Caldwell learned a little something from Manning that he could pass to Joe? My bet is that I'm not that far off there. You kind of gain instant credibility when you can look at a QB and say Peyton Manning used to do this.

Plus, Peyton manning loves Caldwell. Talk about an endorsement... If Peyton wanted to keep working with him, you know he must have been helping Manning grow. manning wouldn't surround himself with people who didn't help him improve his game - the guy is a perfectionist and successful people surround themselves with successful people.

  5.

Not me, as soon as the tapes were out on those two , AJ was shut down..Prior to our last game vs the Bungles there was a stat about AJ, no td's and 4 balls caught..

Torrey Smith had just as a productive season than AJ.

I hope Torrey is great - I love his ability - but Green is one of the best receiving prospects of the last decade. The guy is a Calvin Johnson type who can go up over two guys and pull it in.

The difference is, we got torrey way cheaper, and for a second round pick. Still the best young guy we've ever had.

  6. Harbaugh did his job, Evans and Cundiff did not. Every Raven will tell you that.

The only Raven I heard say anything negative about Cundiff was Cundiff. I guarantee you that Suggs would say Harbaugh should have called the timeout, if he was being honest. He came just short of saying it on First Take when he was talking about the "confusion" before the play. But of course no player would ever say anything negative about a coach - they know all about the Harbaugh doghouse.

  7. you are the worst kind of fan.... the one that looks at the results then decides what you should think. I kinda feel sorry for you. I bet watching the games aren't even fun for you.

I'm still amazed that a team could win 13 teams and be told they didn't have a great year

Have you been following any of this? Basing your opinion on the results ONLY is what you are doing. Who said the team didn't have a great year? They were 7-0 against playoff teams going into the Pats game. I'm saying, despite the results, there are still areas in which we could improve. We had one of the best seasons in our history this year, and three key errors at critical points kept us out of the Super Bowl. (Evans drop, pre-kick confusion without timeout, and missed 32-yard FG) Evans is to blame, Harbaugh is to blame, and Cundiff is definitely to blame.

Btw - how DARE you question another person's fanhood. You're the worst kind of human being, definitively, without question - and I only just heard of you 30 seconds ago.

  8. This is not much but the ravens should start by getting rid of Ed Dickson. He had stone hands at Oregon and has not improved his pass catching in the NFL. Pita can do the job. Would it help to get Flacco to agree to a 1 year extension? This may be a stupid question I am not very knowlegble when it comes to front office moves.

Dickson isn't THAT bad... Pitta is definitely more reliable, but Dickson made several great catches in the last few games, including a big one against Cinci where he took a heck of a shot and held onto the ball... the guy just needs to refine his skills and he has the physical tools to get open at will a la Gronk.

  9. The Pats thing was the exception to the rule, not the rule. It's rare to lose a great QB and not miss a beat.

    Ask Buffalo, Miami, And Denver.

Denver, the team that won their division and beat the Steelers with their "4th string QB" after they pulled their starter?

The Dolphins who plugged in a journeyman, Matt Moore, and won 6 of their final 9 games with a deadbeat coach?

And the Bills are just awful.

The Eagles replaced McNabb twice in one year and got better. Favre was replaced by Rogers and they got better. Vick was replaced by Ryan. Brees was replaced by Rivers. The Steelers won 3 of 4 with Batch when Roethlisberger was out with a raping. Brady replaced Bledsoe and the team improved, then Brady was replaced by Cassel, and will be replaced by Mallett. Manning will be replaced by Luck.

A team shouldn't drop 10 games just because of one guy, no matter what position.

  10.

We did retool, we're extremely young, we just didnt get bad. Duoh!!!!!!!!

    Ooops.

Haven't you listened to generic, uninformed pundit commentary about our defense in the last 3 years? We're really old on defense. (translation: Ray Lewis is old, and he's the only guy we know)

  11. Lastly, it was a 32 yard chip shot, Cundiff should have made the FG regardless, he admitted as much. Harbaugh is not a terrible coach for not using the TO that Im sure you werent worried about sitting in your chair. Crap happens. Lets move on with our record setting coaching staff. We look like a lock for our fifth consecutive playoff appearance.

I was definitely worried about the kick - and that was without knowing Cundiff had been "confused" as to the down situation. Cundiff has been shaky this year, and it was Harbaughs job to calm him down. But it was a big moment, and he was probably still thinking about the Evans play and took the FG for granted.
