colincac Posted May 16, 2013 Author Posted May 16, 2013 Not sure about the old part but we don't have any other option right now other than a stopgap. Draft is gone and most of the better FA are gone. Assuming someone will come in for $1 Million how is it possibly a waste of money when we are looking at starting a rookie and a guy coming off a season-ending spinal injury with zero depth behind them? One of the dumber things I've read on this board. Quote

That, as this business dictates and as the front office will show you, isn't how teams (good ones, anyway) actually operate. Not a single one of those stopgap LBs you mentioned are remotely as valuable at $1 million as the players (Bynes and McClellan included) already accounted for on our roster. Urlacher will be doing television in a few months, Spikes has under-performed his early reputation for most of the past decade, and Dansby was out of our price range (and is an outside linebacker, by the way...). papasmurfbell Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/05/22/brian-urlacher-announces-his-retirement/ Not an option now. He has retired. Quote
oldno82 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I like the idea of using Bynes. And I wonder if Simon can play inside? Quote
