ForceEight
The O's currently have 4 of 9 starters on the All-Star lineup: Jones, Markakis, Hardy, and Davis. Absolutely insane. Also, VOTE!
vmax
Manny needs to be on there.
dc.
Manny will make the team, easily, but Miggy Cabrera is the top vote getter (perhaps deservedly after last year's triple crown and the chance to repeat right now). Markakis has fallen to 4th and there's less chance he gets 'picked' for the team. Still cannot believe he has not made an all-star team. ForceEight
He's too consistent to be an All-Star,as terrible as that is to say. He's consistently very, very good. He's not a breakout hitter and he doesn't really go through many slumps or surges. And as great as he is in right, you don't generally think of the right fielder as a particularly talented defender, whether he is one or not. As awful as it is, those things don't necessarily add up to an All-Star. Not in the traditional way. Throw in the fact that he played for a perennial loser for the first half of his career and that Baltimore is a relatively small market, and you get Markakis being left off of all those teams. cravnravn
I dont want Davis in the HR hitting contest, nothing good comes out of trying to smack the ball 550 feet at every at bat
dc.
Force - all valid points to some extent, but his numbers this year weren't particularly worse than some of the coach selections and he got plenty of fan vote. Easy response: Leyland picked his entire team - including a last man vote of all relief pitchers that features one of his relief pitchers. Blah. thesteelhurtin
How the hell is David Wright going to leave Alvarez off the NL homerun derby team. I would love to see his power on display because dude absolutely mashes the ball.
