Tornado700 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Without specifics, I found 2 things that are very apparent.1.) This starting defense is going to be crazy good. (Sort of like their 1st series)2.) Our back ups just might be the best in the league. My only concern: Our passing game. But, I am certain that will come around as they play into October.Other then that, great job all the way around. Quote
Robjr83 Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Rice seemed sharpDSmith was a great pickupThe front 4 on defence looked good.Chykie Brown needs to stop mugging WrsJones is concerning me at #2 Quote
vmax Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 The depth looks great except at TE. The Ravens are really hurting there. Yet Ozzie has once again assembled a roster full of "Ravens" type players. All units, all phases knocked the snot out of their opponents. This team will be fast and physical. Tyrod Taylor finally had a good game and for the first time looked like an NFL QB. I am very worried about the WR situation. The loss of Pita and Boldin is looming really large. Joe really has no go to guy other than Ray Rice. when Vonte Leach is your main target something's wrong. Playing good against the 2's and 3's doesn't count. It was nice to see Williams and Mellette make great catches and plays but let's see them do that against 1's because somebody....2or 3 guys have to bail Joe out, make plays and be consistently reliable. Special Teams look hungry last night. Yea...Daryl Smith was impressive. Quote
ForceEight Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 You have to wonder why Oz seems so dead set on the speed mentality...Thompson, Jones, and Smith on the field together doesn't make nearly as much sense when there's no Pitta in the middle, or even Dickson in last night's case. I understand that Doss has proven himself unreliable, but Mellette and Williams seem to deserve at least a chance. It just makes me nervous. Quote
Robjr83 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 It was hard to gauge the WRs. I'd like to see Williams get more reps. I'm not too worried about 1st team offence. The oline didn't have Yanda either. Quote

Goooo Ravens.....REPEAT !!!! Quote

I wonder who's available and what the cost might be. Quote
Oldschool739 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 I heard Miles Austin is the subject of a trade deal...If he could stay healthy, not a bad pickup at $840 k.....But I would like to hear Brandon Lloyd or better myself, but don't think we can afford the likes of him.... REPEAT !!!! Quote
oldno82 Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Austin might be a good option. He had 66 catches for over 900 yards last year. Is he a burner or a possession type receiver? I think his contract would have to be restructured though...his cap number this year is over 3 mil. Quote
