vmax Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 While watching football this weekend I felt like I was watching a different game. It was like the football I used to know and love because the Refs let the "players play".Yet it also didn't seem right because they were playing by a different set of rules than the regular season. Basically holding was ok, when in the regular season, if you sneezed in somebody's direction then a flag was thrown.I saw dozens of plays where flags were not thrown but would have been thrown in the regular season. I agree with Billick... 3. As I watched all the games this weekend, there was plenty of commentary regarding the way that the officials were "letting them play" and allowing for a more physical game to be played. They were throwing fewer flags for holding along the offensive line. Less holding in the defensive secondary and allowing more contact with the ball in the air. I have a problem with this. The calls have to be consistent from the regular season to the postseason. I like the way the game was called this weekend, but it needs to be called that way in Weeks 1-17 as well.http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/billick-don-t-look-now-but-the-broncos-have-a-roadblock-ahead-010614 The league and the Refs are wrong to do this. Don't have rules and not enforce them like the NBA. Quote
oldcrow Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 maxwe all know the refs and their calls are all based on interpretation they manipulate the games of the regular season to set up the playoffs and the teams they have their money on. I agree with Billick I don't like it hell, the refs don't even know the rules because they change as goodell sees fit Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I saw whatshisface on Fox who use to run the officials say it was the best officiating of the season. I said to myself that it couldn't get worse than what the season was like. Quote
