papasmurfbell Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/12/redskins-never-bothered-canceling-interviews-after-gruden-deal/ Redskins never bothered canceling interviews after Gruden dealMaybe the Redskins scheduled so many head coaching interviews they couldn’t keep up with them all.Or maybe, they really are as dysfunctional as they appear from the outside.According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Redskins never bothered canceling interviews with 49ers coordinators Greg Roman and Vic Fangio, which were scheduled for Thursday.Which happened to be, you know, the day they hired Jay Gruden. The 49ers are apparently displeased with this development, and they should be. While they were willing to allow guys time during a playoff game week to give themselves a chance to advance, having that turn into a waste of time is another thing. And the lack of professional courtesy is another, which will likely be remembered.UPDATE 12:40 p.m. ET: The Redskins dispute the report. ESPN has responded to the response. Quote
vmax Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 That makes sense. After all, they have a tradition of disrespect to uphold. 1 Quote
