83eh01 Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Ravens only need one of the Jets or Broncos to lose Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Manning pulled. Painter gets hit fumble recovered for a TD. FUCK. We need Cincy to play its guys next week and thats very doubtful. Hopefully Manning comes back in. Cinci will play their guys next week because the 3 seed is still up for grabs. Everyone keeps saying we don't need the Jets to lose if the Broncos lose...I hope they're right! Quote

colincac Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Well if the Jets win both they are in for sure... I guess the multi-team tiebreaker is Conference record? If that's right, how do we shape up? Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I'm sure Manning is out unless Painter gets hurt. Painter playing poorly is all the more reason to keep him in. If manning gets hurt in the playoffs you need to have a competent backup to at least give you a chance to win. Quote

colincac Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario?algorithm=currentStandings This is what we are looking at It factors in the tiebreakers That's based on two Jets losses though... I guess in that scenario we have the 5th seed, so if the Jets manage to win we would theoretically still have the 6th? Quote
vmax Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 21-15 Jets. I'm lost. I want to hear "If We Win Then We're In"... Only if it's true of course. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Don't look now but the Eagles are imploding. Broncos just scored to close it to 10 and the Eagles fumbled the ensuing kickoff Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 What are the Eagles doing? COMMON PHILLY! Quote
vmax Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 In fact...sit Ngata, Walker, Washington, Mason and Cousins in front of the TV and make them watch it. Quote
RavensFanNC Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Wow...and now the Eagles go 3-n-out FML Quote
vmax Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Jets up 21-15 with 1st and goal at nthe Colt 1.... Quote
vmax Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 It's getting too uncomfortable now Tell me about it... Quote
thundercleetz Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 According to the Yahoo thing, the Jets game doesn't really matter, we NEED the Broncos to lose. Quote
Guest BallTMore Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Eagles trying to give this one away with stupid mistakes. Very Ravens-like. Quote
vmax Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Eagles trying to give this one away with stupid mistakes. Very Ravens-like. That is the Ravens playing the Broncos. Quote
vmax Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Jim Nance...: "If the Broncos win then they and the Jets control their own destiny." Quote
colincac Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Wow. everything possible going wrong. Quote
83eh01 Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Well this is it...Eagles better score on this drive I don't want to see it in the Broncos hands again Quote
RavensFanNC Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 McNabb is the MAN 27 yard scramble on 3d and 25 Quote
dc. Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 OK.... it is definitely getting hairy. Here's the thing... if the Broncos win, then they are 9-6 and can go 10-6... which means our head-to-head against them means nothing. If they lose, then they are tied with us and we control our own destiny against them. The Jets, however, hold the tiebreaker with us... so if it's Broncos at 10-6 and Ravens/Jets at 9-7... we're out, Jets in. If it's all 3 at 9-7, we and the Jets go in. You can play with the scenarios here: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario?algorithm=WinningPct You can put in who wins which games, etc etc... really, we need the Broncos to lose today. But they could still lose to KC and the Jets could still lose to Cincy. But we of course would hate to rely on either of those scenarios. Quote
