Spen Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) First Opening day in years I couldnt watch. Darn work, lol. I listened to the last third on the way home - there was some excitment in the 8th and 9th but a win is a win. Edited March 31, 2014 by Spen Quote
thundercleetz Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I listened on WBAL! Hunter had me sweating bullets but we won! Quote
dc. Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I gave up my ticket thinking getting out of work would be impossible... turned out, I totally could have taught all my classes and made it in time. But I just left early, got home in time to curl up with a beer and some snacks. Nice game. But first Opening Day I haven't attended in a decade. Quote

vmax Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The big statement was winning a low scoring pitchers duel over Lester. Quote
cravnravn Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Absolutely,, last season we were sub par in 1 run games Quote
dc. Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Ditto. I have never totally understood it. Why can't the off day be at the end of the series or the week? Quote
cravnravn Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Ditto. I have never totally understood it. Why can't the off day be at the end of the series or the week?Caus we play in an outdoor arena in the somewhat north. It's the safety net incase opening day gets rained /snowed out. As far back as I can remember when opening in Baltimore the next day was an off day. Edited April 2, 2014 by cravnravn Quote
thundercleetz Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 This year there's actually a legitimate excuse. The Red Sox visited the White House yesterday for their World Series championship. Quote
dc. Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 But Crav, they do it in every city. No one plays Tuesday if they played Monday. And if you just moved everything up one, Thursday could be your wash day Quote
cravnravn Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 Preaching to the choir dc, but I was certain we played 3 straight, we opened in Tampa Quote
