tsylvester Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Both are great to extend, worth keeping aorund for a few more years. Quote
thundercleetz Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Yanda is probably cheaper to extend at this point in his career. I could see someone giving KO silly money like Bem Grubbs a few years back. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 Yanda will be 31 in Sept. It will take at least a 5 yr deal to lock him down. I would go with the 25 yr old instead. Quote

Length is irrelevant as long as it's structured right. But yes, if the money is equal I would obviously take KO. However, the money will not be equal. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 But length has to be looked at. Yanda is 31. He could play 5 great yrs and he could play 1 great yr and then be done and have tons of money on a bonus. I think th ebest case scenario is trading this off season for a bigger return. The next best is play out the yr and hope for a nice comp pick for him. Quote

Yanda's bonus will be significantly less than KO's. No way Yanda gets a five year deal with a big bonus number, as you use in yor example. If he demands that, we'll let him go for a comp pick. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 I totally disagree. Yanda will make top dollar. He is considered top 5 guard in the league. Also his versatility adds to his value. I expect him to get a larger deal than KO. Quote
