There’s a bit of coarse language in there, but once you actually see the kick, you’ll understand why. Quote
ForceEight Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Sorry to be the buzzkill, but that's a kickoff, not a field goal. Quote
tsylvester Posted July 16, 2015 Author Posted July 16, 2015 No really Force. While he took one extra step than a normal field goal attempt, he did not get a running start as a kick off would. Quote
ForceEight Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 No really Force. While he took one extra step than a normal field goal attempt, he did not get a running start as a kick off would. Using a tee alone gets the kicker further distance than having a holder simply because of positioning. And, more importantly, the ball would have been blocked at the LOS regardless. Plenty of NFL kickers can make this long distance kick without considering the LOS. Look at this guy kicking for height and distance. His 80 yd tries come up just short because he's actually adjusting for a game situation. His kicks are otherwise the same as the other link. Anyway, that's why I call that a kickoff, not a field goal. Quote
