A year after a training camp knee injury ended his rookie year before it began, Ravens defensive end Brent Urban is again facing the possibility of missing an entire season.

Urban tore his biceps in Thursday's practice, leaving his season in jeopardy. A magnetic resonance imaging test taken confirmed the injury.

The injury typically carries around a 12-week recovery period, so the Ravens will have to decide whether to put Urban on season-ending injured reserve or injured reserve with a designation to return. The latter would mean that Urban would have to miss the first eight weeks of the season before he's elgible to return

Dan Cody, Part 2.

Great human specimen leads to disaster via injuries.

Disgusting.

Mickey Mantle hit over 500 HRs but would have doubled

that if he hadn't missed half of his career due to injuries. I

was there when he got his ankle caught under the fence in

the outfield and went out for the season.

After that they put padding all along the fence on both sides.

Crap!

Was it a result of arm tackling....like Elam?

I feel bad for Bret. Physically he has great size to be a disrupting force. There's a career for him but he knows it's slipping away.

The Ravens are getting bit again by the injury bug in camp. They're losing potential starters and depth. Some of these guys will be back soon but players like Brown and Perriman need the reps. Flacco needs to get the timing down with them.

Tough call, you don't want to waste an IR to return this early in the year, but we don't have to make the call until final rosters. Since this is technically not a season ending injury, would we stash him on the final roster and keep him inactive each week until he is ready to return? I wish football were similar to baseball in that you can put multiple players on the 60-Day DL. Heck, larger rosters would be nice.

I was there too. First game I ever saw. Brooks hit that fly ball to right center. Mantle got a standing ovation by Oriole fans.

Yea,thanks, man.

I couldn't remember if it was center/right field or just center field.

Back to Ravens, remember Billick's cream puff training camps and fans bitched

because players weren't tough enough.

HARBs is supposed to have one of the toughest around and has made every

playoff of except once, unlike Billick but both have rings.
