deeshopper Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 OK. So, I miss playing my video games. I bought Assassin's Creed Syndicate a couple of weeks ago, but have yet to open it. Seeing as how it is going to be about $15 less for Black Friday, I'll probably swap it out for the lower price and play it after Thanksgiving. I also plan to pickup the two new Metal Gear Solid games, since I haven't played since my PS2/3 days. Happy it is no longer Playstation exclusive. I like the concept of Fallout 4, and the graphics look decent, but I cannot get into first-person shooters. I plan on pre-ordering Tom Clancy's The Division, as that looks really nice! So, what do any gamers here recommend. Again, I need third-person, control the character games. Which is how I got into Assassin's Creed. Quote
Spen Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Xbox or PlayStation? If you have a PS4 go with the Uncharted series or The Last Of Us. I'm not a huge Batman fan but the Arkham trilogy was great, particularly Arkham Knight which was awesome. I like what I see of Fallout 4, it's probably next after I finish MGS: Phantom Pain. Quote
deeshopper Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 Xbox 360 and Xbox One. I bought the Batman Arkham (not sure which one), on a recommendation, but I haven't even played it yet. It's been sitting there for over a year. lol. Quote
Spen Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 The first Batman game in the series is Arkham Asylum. It's decent but the entire game takes place at the asylum. The next two let you travel around the city. The third gives you a batmobile. Actual cost I probably did more damage to the city by my driving than the bad guys did. Quote
thundercleetz Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Currently playing WWE 2K16 for X1. Quote
Spen Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Currently playing WWE 2K16 for X1.Lol I havent followed wrestling since I was a kid but usually pick up the games used after a while. I just started WWE 2K15. Quote
cravnravn Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Must be mellowing in my old age, I stood in line after work last Thursday night for an hour and a half for call of duty 3. Son had to work so we decided to stand in line for him. Quote

I just started WWE 2K15.Lol I never grew out of being a wrestling fan. The wrestling games have been great since 2K sports took over. 2K15 was good, but it was the first game on the next generation consoles, so it was very much an incomplete effort. 2K16 is excellent and really builds upon what was started in 2K15. The next game I want to get into is Witcher 3. I've read some of the books and loved Witcher 2 (beat it). However, the time commitment for Witcher 3 seems enormous. I'm hesitant to start. Quote

thundercleetz Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Gave in and bought the Witcher 3. It was $40 on Amazon, as a fan of the second games and books, I couldn't resist. I plan to get started this weekend after my exams. Quote
Spen Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 The second half of MGS Phantom Pain is a mess. Over all the game is great, its been a lot of fun. However the second half of the the game (post mission 31) is annoying. There are 50 main missions. After mission 31 for ever new story mission there seems to be 2 missions that are just previous missions with new criteria. In order to get to the end you need to replay things on expert or total stealth. Why? You could go black and replay the earlier missions at any time to improve your score. The game already is plenty long and a great value. Instead of 50 missions, just have the game be 36 missions with no retreads Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 I second Spen's Batman recommendations. I would also add Grand Theft Auto VI was an awesome play. I haven't played V but I'm sure it's even better. I have gotten away from mature games (pretty much down to Disney Infinity, Castle Crashers, and Just dance now due to time constraints and the kids), but having played and enjoyed the first 3 Assasin's creed I think you'll like those games. Reviews said MSG5's story was weak, which disappointed me. The production value for the game is so high, with a solid voice cast, that one would expect a movie-type story. I will not be getting MSG5. I picked it up earlier this week. I'll let you know. The early games, the storyline was very nice and in-depth, but it definitely felt recycled by the second and third games. Quote
Spen Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 What works well with MGS5 really works well. Which in my opinion is most of it. They incorporated the game into and open world and pulled it off. The story works well enough for me. Keifer got an easy payday, he rarely talks. Quote
deeshopper Posted November 29, 2015 Author Posted November 29, 2015 I'm thinking about pre-ordering Tom Clancy's The Division. I'm so weary about pre-ordering anything after the Sim City debacle and then again with AC Unity. Quote
deeshopper Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 Started playing MGS: Ground Zeroes this weekend. Gosh, what a mess so far. It's been a while since I've played any MGS game, but there were no instructions whatsoever, which meant I had to Google the controls for the game. So ridiculous. I literally have no idea what I'm doing, looking for Paz, whoever the heck she is, and no way to find her. I'm hate-playing this game. Quote

Same thing happened to me when I played through Ground Zero. It wasn't until I nearly beat the game that I realized you could choke people out. Looking back at the game, it's probably possible to beat it in less than an hour. However, it took me over five because I didn't know what to do lol. Quote

I just read the walkthrough, and apparently I've been to where Paz is being held several times over. lol. I did not like that searched through all the cells at the prisoner camp and didn't see Chico, because I had to climb to the watch tower and move the light first. Lame. Quote
