varaven45
For what it's worth - http://dailysnark.com/refs-call-one-worst-pass-interference-calls-nfl-hist Hate to see these garbage calls- especially game changers If refs get Jax and Phins calls right, we are 6-6. Just sayin.
thundercleetz
I love Brown's game as a WR. Great hands, excellent body control and he is strong high pointing the ball in the air. We don't have any other receivers who play like that. He should be getting all the opportunities for us.
TBird
Don't forget the Jags game where Doooom was called for face masking on lastplay of game. Ravens were celebrating the win but Jags got the ball back andkicked 50 yard FG to win it. REplay clearly shows Doooom did not face mask him and the league office admitted it. That's two recent losses to the Refs. Mike and Mike were more livid on the callthan HARBs but said since both teams are bad, NFL will sweep it under the rug. varaven45
Yep. The league owes us mucho mulligans next year - not that we're getting em
Tornado700
I'm convinced the referee's and possibly the NFL does not like this Raven organization. Conspiracy might be a reach, but they definetely don't like us.
cravnravn
Even the Fish fans in front of us chuckled, I turned and said that's our season in a nutshell.
varaven45
Yeah Crav, when the homies are even chuckling at calls like this, ya know your season done. It's a damn shame, but if nothing else, there will be 0 expectations of this team next season. thundercleetz
This offseason refs need to study the difference between a push off and a DB slipping. This is the second time we've been screwed by such a call (the first being last year with Steve Smith vs. the Bengals). On the topic of refs, their performance this year has been downright miserable. Missed calls, bad calls, going into the booth for five minutes and still not getting the call right. The worst part is when the TV studio goes to Mike Perriera who clearly explains the call, then the ref comes out with the opposite call. Four suggestions: 1. Make refs full time employees of the NFL. Year-round training for these guys, full benefits to make them vested in their profession. This is a multi-billion dollar sport and the league is being cheap with the refs who have a lot of power in determining the quality of the product. 2. Refs need to be physically capable of doing their job. 20-20 vision, or if not they have to wear glasses/goggles that get them to that point. Refs need to be in good physical shape. They cannot get fatigued running up and down the field and have that cloud their ability to make a judgement. 3. Harping back on the NFL being cheap, tennis for years has had the technology to track the pin point where a tennis ball hits the court. The NFL does not think it's worth it to implement this technology for sideline, goal line and first down markers? 4. Everything should be challengeable. Implement a system that is similar to the MLB. Have a team in NYC that watches all the games. Buzzes down when there is a bad call. There is a brief pause in the action, and the call is made by the NYC crew. If Mike Perriera is always able to explain everything so clear and perfectly for Fox, why doesn't the NFL hire twenty of him to sit in a room in NYC to get these calls right. oldno82
Great suggestions! The NFL needs to get off its collective ass adopt those options.
cravnravn
Refs are way overpaid for doing part time work. Everyone of these crews should be replaced, it boils down to their ineptitude has changed the outcome of numerous games including 2 of ours, that will result in us not making the playoffs and costing the owner and the players playoff revenue. dc.
No, Dumervil certainly did facemask and a pretty egregious one too... BUT the play should not have started even because the Jags were not set at the line. That's what the league admitted to - the play should have been waived off, no play occurs, no chance at a facemask. Here's the facemask - one of the worst I've seen in a while http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000580169/Ravens-Elvis-Dumervil-commits-crucial-face-mask-penalty-on-Jaguars-Blake-Bortles That said - I agree that officiating, leaguewide, has been abysmal this year. Something needs to be done. And that definitely includes full-time officiating crews. But there is something many do not bring up: the complexity of the rules at this point and how stupid so many of them are. The problem as much as it is officials is the problem of too many judgement calls. Too many "a nudge is ok but a shove is not." Too many "it depends who starts contact." (That's the one on defensive holding that is so ass backwards... a WR can pretty much run straight into a DB and get a holding call). It's officials but it's also a system gone haywire.
