Ravens draft: Don’t automatically rule out a quarterback in round 1

Mayfield doesn’t have ideal size. The eye test shows that Mayfield falls more in line with Drew Brees and Russell Wilson (he is kind of a mix of both of them). Mayfield’s size combined with the insanely talent filled spread out offense could give NFL general managers pause. The Ravens are all about best player available. We’re kind of kidding ourselves if we think Mayfield or Jackson wouldn’t be the best player available. We’re really kidding ourselves if we think quarterback isn’t a first round worthy need. Based on potential availability, a quarterback could be in play.

I just have a feeling Mayfield will be long gone at 16.

I would not be bothered if they did take him at 16. There are a number of solid pass catchers they can get in the 2nd round, including a tight end.

One issue with Mayfield is that he is exactly the type of player Harbs wants nothing to do with.

True, but he is perfect for the wco, quick feet, quick, accurate release and deadly down field accuracy.

Did doing everything right work if the attitude challenges Harbs?

He does look alot like Brees. If you remember, the Ravens had a shot at Brees way back when.

I know. I hated the McNair move. I think not going for Brees left 3 real SB shots on the table.

Caption should read "ravens do automatically draft a QB (not necessarily in 1st) ". There are 4-5 good to very good Qbs in this draft.

I am not high on Rosen. I also don't think Jackson can transition as a QB.
