oldno82 Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Well, we've heard from DeCosta. He sounds impressive but we'll have to wait for results. Our strategy seems to be like it was last year. Any ideas about how we can pick up a decently placed second rounder? Quote
vmax Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 No idea other than to trade back out of the first round for more picks. It sounds like this is a deep draft. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 They've sure shown a liking for trading back and I don't mind that. I just don't want a debacle like we had with the Sergio Kindle/Cody mess where we traded out of the first round and took those two guys in the second. That was awful. And that worries me. Quote
vmax Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I'm trusting Eric.He said Ozzie's watched more film than ever because of his reduced role.I think they have learned from the past, scouted well, identified what they have and what they need, and now have a very solid draft board. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 5, 2019 Author Posted April 5, 2019 All I can say is that I hope so. We'll know in just a few weeks I guess. What would you say to trading Jimmy Smith for a 2nd rounder? I don't think it's a great idea but it's something to think about. Also don't know if we could get a second round pick for him. And I hate the idea of messing with the secondary which may be the best in the league. Tough questions. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 5, 2019 Author Posted April 5, 2019 Additional info...the last time the Ravens traded out of the first round was 2012. They took Upshaw and Osemele. The mess with Kindle and Cody occurred in 2010. Geez! Time flies! 9 Years ago! Quote
vmax Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Yea....that makes me feel like an old man............. Quote
oldno82 Posted April 6, 2019 Author Posted April 6, 2019 Maybe. Maybe they tried or are trying. His injury history hurts his value though. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted April 6, 2019 Posted April 6, 2019 At this point I would get what you can. Maybe a contender will desperately need a CB at the deadline. Quote
