papasmurfbell Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 https://ravenswire.usatoday.com/2019/07/23/dallas-cowboys-release-allen-hurns-baltimore-ravens-sign-allen-hurns/ According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys were hoping to retain Hurns at a lower price than they signed him last offseason but instead released him. Dallas’ loss could open up the door for the Baltimore Ravens to swoop in.The Ravens showed interest in Hurns last offseason but were spurned in favor of the Cowboys. Now, Hurns enters a free agent market that has been well picked over with many teams having their rosters situated and salary cap space spent. Baltimore has used that situation to their benefit before, bringing in guys they wanted at a lower price point. It’s something I think they should absolutely do once again with Hurns.Hurns joined Dallas with the hopes of breaking out. While Hurns has the talent, he sadly didn’t produce very much in the Cowboys’ deep offense. Hurns caught just 20 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns last season before suffering a gruesome broken ankle in the wild card game against the Seattle Seahawks that required surgery to repair. Why? Hurns has been a mediocre WR since 2016. Why bother signing him now? I would not lose any other WR on this roster to get Hurns. Quote
oldno82 Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 I don't see what he would do for us either. Save the cap money for looking out for a late preseason pass rusher or LG. Was glad to see Ferguson come off the NFIL yesterday. Quote
