oldno82 Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Ravens' website reports perfect attendance at first practice this week. Vorhees back. I think they should go with the same line as last week though. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Pierce practiced also. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Last week's improvement means nothing if they fall back again. Time to lock in the improvements and make them instinctual. Take no prisoners in Cinci, they are not your friends, show no mercy and beat the snot out of them. Their defense has been one of the worse in the league through 4 games, giving around 29 pts per game. Their offense, on the other hand, is clicking on all cylinders, averaging 30 plus pts in the last few games. Each teams knows the other, so buckle up buttercup, there ain't no cryin in football. Quote
oldno82 Posted October 2 Author Posted October 2 The sooner they forget about last week's win, the better. I want them going into Cincy with a chip on their shoulder. Should be easy to wear since Burrow has always had success against us. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Listening to Lamar, Derek, even Humph, they all seem focussed on the mission ahead. They can bury Cinci with a win, 1-4 is pretty much season ending. Could they come back? Sure, they have an easy schedule, but they will have to stay healthy and play theor best the rest of the way. Even if they did that, what would they have left in their tank for the playoffs? Nothing. A Ravens win puts them at 3-2, keeping them likely 1 game back from the Steelers but sending a message to everyone, yes, the Ravens are loaded and focussed Quote
oldno82 Posted October 3 Author Posted October 3 If the Ravens win Sunday, the bandwagon won't have any room left for more analysts. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 3 Posted October 3 It's a marathon not a sprint, players know this, so too do "analyst", but analysts have to put on a show. I ignore them mostly, the #1 team know is not likely to be the same after week 18.. The Ravens seem to be accepting the NBA model, use the regular season to fine tune so that they have the best chance suceed in the post season. Quote
oldno82 Posted October 3 Author Posted October 3 You have to ignore them because they always laud the flavor of the month. I've noticed this even during games by the announcers and color analysts. When a team has the lead, they crow about how awesome they are. Then, if they fail, they've got all the reasons they 'knew' that would happen. It's pretty sickening. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Bengals defer, a slight windy day Kickoff is a touchback 1st down at the 30 Let's do this End around, jet sweet, for Flowers who gets 9 2nd and 1 Henry off the left side for 3, 1st down Henry to the right for 2 Lamar to Kolar for 7, 3rd and 1 Henry starts uo the middle, cuts left fod 4 Quote

Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Real nice mix of run & pass for a just over 6 mins to go 70 yards. Well done Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 12 plays 6:06 Kickoff is a touchback Busted play, Burrow takes it for 1 yard Nice play by Hamilton Short pass over the middle, Hamilton makes him pay, 3rd and 6 Ravens showing blitz, long snap count, false start is called a neutral zone infracfion Oye 3rd and 1 Agent 0 makes a great play for a tackle for a loss, 4th down Punt to the Ravens 16 forces a fair catch Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Super 3 and out Ravens lead the league in penalties, they will need to be clean to win this game Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 6:39 in the first Lamar tries to hit Kolar and is far too up field, almost picked Wide receiver screen to Flowers for 5 3rd and 5 Blitz is picked up, Lamar hits Flowers on a deep crossing route for 23 Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Screen on the right to Likely gets 6 2nd and 4 from the Bengal 48 Lamar fakes a throw, takes off and is tackled right away 3rd and 7 Lamar tries to hit Flowers but the pass is fsr too high, had Bateman wide open deeper Punt downed out of bounds 35 yards inside the 20 Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 3:29 left in the 1st q From their 14 Double pump, hits Chase on a slant for 9 2nd and 1 Run off tackle get 4 Sweep left, 2 Ravens miss tackles, gain of 12 Screen gets 14 From the Ravens 44 Great pressure by Madds, Simpson pass is thrown away 2nd and 10 Pass down field is ruled in, pick up of 12 run up the middle for 12 End of 1st quarter Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 While Jackson was "beat" on the throw to Gesicki, sp, it was a great throw and the tightend with his height, made a grest catch. He did lose control of the ball when he hit the ground, but got 2 feet down so it might, might have not been over ruled under the football move rule Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 From the Ravens 13 Run left for gain of 2 2nd down Short pass Washington makes the stop after 1 yard gain 3rd and 7 Pass to the left to Higgin on a slant between 3 defenders, touchdown 7-7 Well, you knew that they were not going to shut them out, right? It was just the medium big plays, 12 yard chunks. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Had to run to the store. After a couple of 3 outs forced by the defense. Cinci nails a punt to the Ravens 1. Rosegarden forgets the golden rule of blocking the main closet to the ball on goal line situation, result, safety, 14-9 Ravens. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 3rd and 10, Harbs mysteriously calls a time out with under 2 mins from his own 30. Ravens forced to punt. Even with a 60 yard punt and 12 yard return, the defense, as usual, gives up points late in the half, 7 pts to be exact with under 30 seconds to go. How bout that ti.e out Harbs? 16-14 Quote
papasmurfbell Posted October 6 Posted October 6 https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Harbaugh#/media/File:JohnHarbaugh2009.jpg time mang? I don’t need no stinking time mang! Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Lamar, even with decent yards and completion % was wild high, almost getting 2 picks, 1 man killed and missed several wide open receivers Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 What could have been a blow out in the first half is now a d9g fight Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 For those calling for a trade for a wide receiver, what good would he do with Lamar this off on throws 20+ yards down field? Would Adams have hung on after getting blasted right as he was making the catch? Bateman has been open, especially when paired with Flowers, on the deep out. Yet no throws. Only 1 underneath for a touchdown. Could have been two had Lamar thrown to him, on target They are shutting Henry down, it is up to Lamar Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 5 of 9 to 1 of 5 on third downs in favor of the Ravens... Kickoff is a touchback Quote
