tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Lamar, 26 of 42 for 348, 4 touchdowns, no picks plus 12 rushes for 55 yards with one fumble, lost. What a game. Again I say, we don't have enough passing weapons? 9 different receivers, 3 different tightends, all making huge plays Why go into debt for a one year rental? Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I was 12 years old when this game started, I look in the mirror now, Im 58 Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 The great Josh Allen went 9 of 30 in their loss to the Texans. Not a typo, I had to do a double take, not 19, not 29, but 9 of 30 Quote
tsylvester Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Humph left the locker room with a boot on his foot... Quote
oldno82 Posted October 7 Author Posted October 7 I dunno, guys...we always wondered what Lamar would do if we got involved in a shootout. I'd say he did pretty damn good today. And a big, fat NO to Davante Adams! We don't need him. Quote

Really?  Missed open guys.  Fumbled snap.  That was all done with piss poor defenders.  Let’s let a good d play the ravens and embarrass them. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Papa, buddy, you read my run down on plays. Yes, he fumbled 2 snaps, missed open guys. Every qb misses open guys from time to time. But, you knew this was coming, Few if any qb could do what he did with this line. The right side is still terrible. Faalele whiffs often on blocks, Roasegarden is barely passable as a right tackle right now. It is Lamar's ability, quickness, speed, that gets him out of jams. Even with his mistakes, he put up huge numbers on a day when he had to, no defense, no running game. That 100 yards rushing per game record is a joke, it was no consistent enough to help. Cinci was rush blitzing most of the game. It is why so many guys were wide open in the middle of the field and Lamar found them. 9 different receivers, 350+ yards, what, 61% completion is not fantastic but still solid, 4 touchdowns. Oh, while he played meh in the first half, he turned it around in the 2nd half when neither defense could stop a toddler. I don't know what this season will be, I do know, that there is no dominant team this year, every team has holes, even the Chiefs. Quote
oldno82 Posted October 7 Author Posted October 7 I don't know many, if any, quarterbacks could have made the play where Lamar stiff-armed Hubbard, not once but twice, while running to his right and then thowing across his body to both find and complete a pass to Likely in the end zone for a TD. I've never seen a play made like that before. And Tsyl, you're spot on. There aren't any great teams in the league these days. Our defense had a piss poor day for sure. Orr is learning on the job. The O-line is patchwork with several moving parts. And yet with all that, the Ravens put on a 41 point outburst. It was one damned good entertaining game. Next up is Washington which will test Orr's D again. If the Ravens had a good offensive line, I wouldn't hesitate to pick us to win. We will lose a few more games on the way but so will all the other teams and in the end I think we will wind up in the playoffs. Quote
tsylvester Posted October 7 Posted October 7 As I said earlier, Allen was 9 of 30. He appeared to have a concussion, hit his head hard on the ground, went limp in one hand. Was seen getting smelling salts, wonderful stuff, on the sidelines, team claims he has a sprained ankle. More interesting, he didn't complete a single pass after he returned. Seems some investigation is in order Quote
oldno82 Posted October 7 Author Posted October 7 Yeah, I think that really screams negligence on the Bills and Refs' part. He looked out of it to me and I bet he is concussed. Quote
