papasmurfbell Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Today is Jax and tomorrow is chi. I would suspect Jerry talks to monk too. Quote
tsylvester Posted January 16 Posted January 16 He would be nuts to sign with either of those teams. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Time for the Ravens to pony up a nice package for Todd. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 I would jump on chi in a heartbeat. You have a qb. He has some damn solid targets. They have a d. You have to instill a culture. And don’t be shocked if it’s him too. They have interviewed 60 yr old McCarthy and 70 something Pete Carroll also. It looks like they want older steadier leadership. you don’t get to choose the spot you want usually. Not to many get to jump onto an established winner like Tomlin. Looking back 4 yrs ago who thought Campbell got the right spot. Or Mcvey in la. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 22 Author Posted January 22 We just got knocked out and so did det. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 So Jax lost their guy bc of the gm. Now he was fired so Kahn has to go back to the well to find a coach. Quote
tsylvester Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Coach and Gm, Jax is a total mess, I feel bad for Trevor Lawrence. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 He is staying. I see some very poor hires in this cycle. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Terrific for us that he's staying but a bummer for him personally. Maybe. I do think he's happy here. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Just read where NO is now still open after Bills' OC turned down an offer. Quote

papasmurfbell Posted January 26 Author Posted January 26 Jerry wanted a puppet. The jets and bears got the jewels. Vegas makes ni sense. Jax got a great oc. 7 hours ago, oldno82 said: Just read where NO is now still open after Bills' OC turned down an offer. yeah I am seeing they might reopen their search. Quote
tsylvester Posted January 27 Posted January 27 According to Espn, Todd is getting an extension, good move Steve, real good move Quote
oldno82 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Yep...saw it in The Sun today too. Really glad it's happening and just wish they could have done the same with McD. Maybe they tried and he just wanted to be a HC more. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 He was ready to be a hc. He was a top 2 choice last yr. Not taking it is a big risk. If the d has issues then you might be off the possible list. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 28 Posted January 28 True. It's always a risk either way. If you don't take it when offered you might not get another chance. I'm sure glad Monken is staying, though. We need him for his offensive mind and we need the stability in the coaching staff. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 Don’t expect him to be here for yr 4. I just hope they work on a succession plan. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Just saw where the Ravens are bringing Pags back to help with the secondary. Another good move. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Actual title is Senior Secondary Coach so maybe it's more than just an advisory role. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted January 29 Author Posted January 29 I would guess part time. There to tweak and jump in about problems he sees. Quote
tsylvester Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Not a bad move, caught him a few times on the Pat Mac pod cast, seems to still have his mind for the game. Quote
oldno82 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I'd really like to see him as DC like he was before. I'll never forget the effectiveness of his 'organized chaos' defenses. Quote
