To reach an extension in the next week or so, we shall see, I hope so. Also of note, the Bengals have released one of their guard, Cappa, and expect to not resign their other one Ford, so there will be plenty of guards to help this team find one for depth.

"The sense out of Indy is that the Ravens and left tackle Ronnie Stanley can agree to terms on an extension in the coming days," Fowler wrote. "Some inside the league are projecting that deal to land somewhere between $21-23 million per year."

It would be a significant domino in the Ravens' offseason to land Stanley, as they'll have what many named their biggest offseason priority accomplished in retaining the star protector for Lamar Jackson.

If the Ravens aren't able to re-sign Stanley, ESPN’s Mike Reiss noted the New England Patriots, who have the league-most cap space in 2025 of $127 million, are wanting Stanley.

It's a risk with Stanley but one I'm willing to take. We aren't going to find a starting LT in the draft and I don't like the idea of moving Rosey to LT. Let the kid settle in at RT and go with the vet at LT.  And, yes, if we can get a decent guard in FA, do it.

We should use the draft to take BPA for every pick, regardless of position.

We have a starting Lt on the roster with rose.  We can draft a rt.  He is a blindside ot.  He was on the right for a left handed qb and played amazing.  A rt should be a grinder to a degree and that isn’t him.  

 

im getting tired of bpa.   Roseman doesn’t screw around doing that.

11 picks at the least, draft deep in the positions the Ravens need, go get what this team needs, to poop with over or under drafting, get them, don't take chances

If Stanley stays healthy the rookie right tackle can sit and learn

Not going to deny that there is risk involved, but he was healthy for all of last season and played very well. Even if we draft an LT or an RT, it would probably take them at least 7-10 games to come up to NFL speed. There's no all-stars waiting down where we're drafting.

It's a risk worth taking if Eric can come up with a Raven's style contract.

The man has never gone 2 yrs in a row healthy.  He will not live in the castle to workout like crazy again.  Giving him anything is throwing good money after bad.  Let him walk.  A rt is not that hard to get.

True, a right tackle is "not hard to find".

But moving from left to right or vice versa, does take time. Add to that maybe changing a guard and now you have essentially 3 new linemen to try to gell together in this system.

Sign Stanley, if he will take the middle ground from top pay to team friendly, draft a right tackle who can get a year of NFL training, strength, and, take spot duty when needed to learn the system in game.

Then, at least you are not caught too off guard if or when an injury to either tackle happens

The transition is footwork.  The kid is smart and athletic.  Rose can do it.

But ya still should try and land him. Without him and if they can't get Mekari back, now you have no depth

Now we can look for an edge rusher or CB in the first round.

We can use those two years to keep Lamar protected and develop a capable LT replacement. It helps keep our window open.

Right, draft a right tackle, let him learn, fill in when needed, then slowly move him into the starting roll as he gains NFL strength.

Then move Rose over. It is depth.

There is a reason multiple teams were salivating waiting for free agency to start with Stanley not under contract.

He took a little less than the other teams were reportedly offering, the Ravens gave him a little more than they initially offered.
