tsylvester Posted April 10 Posted April 10 It's a nice read in this dead season before the draft At the annual league meeting last week, Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh sat down with reporters and immediately expressed gratitude over his new three-year deal, which extends one of the most successful runs in NFL history. Entering their 18th season under Harbaugh, the Ravens have totaled six AFC North titles, two No. 1 seeds and 12 playoff berths. The stumbling block has been in the postseason, where Harbaugh hasn't led Baltimore to a Super Bowl since winning it in the 2012 season. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/44575355/baltimore-ravens-john-harbaugh-extension-2025-season Quote
oldno82 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I do have complaints about several characteristics of Harbs' coaching, but I also know he's got more pluses than negatives. Things I wish he was better at: Time management, playing talented rookies earlier, knowledge of X's and O's. Things he does well: Motivation, organization, accountability, drafting and free agent input. All in all, I'd give him a solid B as a head coach. Quote
tsylvester Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 By & large the players love him, he has a long leash, sometimes to the detriment of the team it seems: safety play for example. But he never throws a player under the bus. Even Cleveland, who struggled with his personal issues, when many were screaming for him to play, the organization was quiet as to why he wasn't. Sure, another Super Bowl was "expected" the last couple of years, but despite the early exits, it wasn't because of coaching. The players for what ever reason just couldn't hang onto the ball, leading to loses. Quote
