papasmurfbell Posted yesterday at 02:17 PM Posted yesterday at 02:17 PM About 36 mil for 3 yrs and 20 mil guaranteed Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM Good move, if healthy, he will continue to shine. That foot injury held him back a year and a half or so, tough to comeback from quickly. Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 03:28 PM Posted yesterday at 03:28 PM https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/ravens-sign-rashod-bateman-to-contract-extension Another year, another contract extension for wide receiver Rashod Bateman. The Ravens announced that Bateman has signed an extension with the team on Thursday morning. The team did not announce any terms of the deal, but multiple reports say it is a three-year, $36.75 million deal with $20 million in guaranteed money. Bateman signed an extension with the Ravens through the 2026 season last year, so he’s now tied to the team through the 2029 campaign. Quote
oldno82 Posted yesterday at 05:08 PM Posted yesterday at 05:08 PM Really glad to hear this. Locking him up while he's entering his peak years is the smart move. He's been a good team player too. Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 05:38 PM Posted yesterday at 05:38 PM Yes, people don't realize how hard it is to come back from a lisfranc injury, especially for a wide out. Last year we got a glimpse of what a truly healthy Bateman can do, cutting, quickness, jittery, speed. With him and a healthy Flowers, both now fully acclimated to the NFL and Lamar now in full control of the offense and confident in his passing and pass catchers, this offense may just be better than last year's. papasmurfbell Posted yesterday at 06:50 PM Author Posted yesterday at 06:50 PM Just tacking onto an already super cheap deal is a very friendly deal for us. By 2027 his new deal will be way under market. Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 07:12 PM Posted yesterday at 07:12 PM Yes, very crafty cap move. He gets a big pay day, enough, especially if invested correctly, sets up he and his family for a generation, the cap hit is easy. Quote
oldno82 Posted yesterday at 07:18 PM Posted yesterday at 07:18 PM It is a reasonable deal. Team friendly and a nice bonus for Bate. A win-win. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted yesterday at 08:06 PM Author Posted yesterday at 08:06 PM I disagree. I think bate got robbed but I don’t mind. Quote
tsylvester Posted yesterday at 08:50 PM Posted yesterday at 08:50 PM Not sure he got robbed, he chose to stay with a winning franchise for good money rather than risk getting less from a bad team Quote
papasmurfbell Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago It’s good money now. In 2 yrs it will be bad money. Quote
tsylvester Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago And if he out performs the contract he will get more, here or elsewhere. Chief reporters are already saying this contract will muddy the waters for them trying work out a new deal with Hollywood. Lots of luck to them with him Quote
papasmurfbell Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago Bate will be 30 at the end of this deal. Sure he can get another contract but will he be ascending or diminishing at that time. Stats say deminishing. Quote
tsylvester Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago True, but how much more could he maybe have gotten in 2 years when he is what, 27, 28? He is not a number 1, a solid number 2 in the right system but he is not a Higgins Quote
papasmurfbell Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago Higgins is a top 8 to 15 wr. He is most teams #1. In 2 yrs a #2 wr could be pulling 15 per. Quote
tsylvester Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago One good dude https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/rashod-bateman-you-get-paid-for-doing-the-right-things “I’m happy to be here, blessed, and fortunate,” Bateman said, via the team’s website. “We’ve had some good, transparent dialogue throughout this whole process. It’s kind of how this league works — you get paid if you’re doing the right things, on and off the field. It’s a respect thing, showing this organization believes in me. I’m definitely hoping to continue that mindset and that work ethic to continue to prove to the coaches that I’m worthy.” Quote
