tsylvester Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 Harbs said it was the plan to play both qbs, really? Put one in the 4th quarter? If you believe that, the repairs to the Key Bridge are done, go ahead and drive off, I mean, over it... As much as I hoped Wallace would turn out, clearly those two big returns were all we would get from him, time to move on. Germie Bernard, Alabama I'm not high on drafting them from Bama, but this kid is similar to Devo in body and style. 6'-1, 200 lbs, a hands catcher not a body catcher. Great with the ball in his hands, excellent vision to find lanes, twitch to make men miss. Size he uses well, and Bama uses him out of the backfield, on jet sweeps, in the slot, outside. Quote
tsylvester Posted November 1 Author Posted November 1 Caleb Lomu, offensive tackle Utah 6'6" 308, a true tactician, left tackle, redshirt sophomore. If he comes out, expected to go in the top 12. Could be our answer for Stanley's spot. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 1 Posted November 1 We won’t be drafting in the top 12 soon. Prob between 18 and 22. Quote
tsylvester Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 True perhaps, but this will be a good draft for linemen, tackles, both offensive and defensive Quote
papasmurfbell Posted November 2 Posted November 2 If we lost to Chicago we probably would be picking #1 now. I’d rather have the picks. Quote
tsylvester Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 We will find out next week, if they cant beat Mini, they are definitely done Quote
tsylvester Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 I dunno, their defense is pretty darn good and with the Baltimore defense, they might make McCarthy look like Joe Montana Quote
tsylvester Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 Shut down the Lions pretty good, but yeah, they are an average d Quote
tsylvester Posted November 8 Author Posted November 8 An edge rusher possibly in the 2nd, likely in the late 1st; David Bailey, Texas Tech He has gotten better each year, now a senior with 11 sacks thus far in the season. Good speed, plays against a lot of mesh point offenses, read & reacts well. Excellent tackler who can, though not always, hold the edge, has recovery speed to chase down plays. I do not totally agree with this particular assessment, it is a pretty good point of view. While he does play aginst some poor competition, even against the quality teams, he shows good hands to nock down offensive tackles hands. Good strength to bull rush and a quick spin move to get pressure. This eval seems to think he can only be a rotational player, I, and many others think that he can be more. A 2nd round pick would be a steal for this guy, 6'3-260lbs https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25258657-nfl-draft-2026-scouting-report-texas-tech-edge-david-bailey Quote
tsylvester Posted November 8 Author Posted November 8 Another edge rusher, some say is the best skill wise though I am not sure the Ravens will get a shot at him. From Mel 10. Rueben Bain Jr., DE, Miami* Height: 6-3 | Weight: 275 | Prev. rank: 9 2025 stats over seven games: 36 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 32 pressures, 3 run stops, 1 forced fumble, 1 INT Bain is powerful and has really strong hands. He routinely gets the best of some very good offensive tackles, often with his dominant rip move, and he knows every trick in the book in getting home to the QB. Bain also shows speed and bend off the edge, and he takes good angles. Plus, he can hold the edge against the run and get off blocks to chase down ball carriers. His tape is just filled with disruption. But even with all those A-level traits, it's actually Bain's hustle that really stands out to me. He never takes a play off and fires at the ball on every play. His arms are shorter than most scouts prefer, but there's so much to like with his game. Opponents have to account for him in their game plans, and he can keep them guessing even then with his inside-outside flexibility. https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2026/story/_/id/46573669/2026-nfl-draft-rankings-mel-kiper-big-board-top-prospects-players-positions# Quote
tsylvester Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago Because it's always too early for a mock draft, not sure I agree with the choices, some of them are okay, but certainly not all of them. I feel the Ravens could get a much better reciever in the 2nd or even 3rd rather than nab him in the 1st Round 1, Pick 20: Makai Lemon, WR, USC Zay Flowers is a dangerous wide receiver, but he shouldn’t be the top option in a passing game. Lemon is a great all-around player who is a pristine route runner, can win after the catch, and is better at the catch point than you’d expect. I do like this pick if he falls. The one constant on a bad Florida team has been their front four and he has been a very good leader. He was not as bad as this writer makes him out to be, especially on the Ravens defense, he will be motivated to play up to his potential Round 2, Pick 51: Caleb Banks, DT, Florida Banks is a first round talent without question, but he just hasn’t put it all together yet. At 6-6 and 330 pounds, you are potentially getting a difference maker if he develops properly. Here is where the writer really starts to reach even more than the 1st round pick. Jacas has nine sacks on the season, but mostly against the little sisters of the poor like 2 against Rutgers for an example. At 6',3", 275 (if you believe college stats) i am not sure he will translate to the NFL for an edge rusher the Ravens desperately need. The Ravens need to focus either the 1st or 2nd round on one, even if a trade is needed. Round 3, Pick 84: Gabe Jacas, EDGE, Illinois Jacas just feels like a Baltimore Raven. He’s a physical edge defender who plays with outstanding effort as a rusher. This is exactly the type of player that the organization tends to love at defensive end. The rest of the rounds are all "developmental" players, his words, and while they are needed, not so many of them on this team. The Ravens need to land starters in the early rounds even in this weak draft. https://atozsports.com/nfl/baltimore-ravens-news/baltimore-ravens-7-round-2026-nfl-mock-draft-lamar-jackson-new-top-weapon-makai-lemon/ Quote
oldno82 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Help is desperately needed on the O-line and we can start at LT because I think this will be Stanley's last year with the Ravens. We need a couple guards to boot. Ditto with an edge rusher. A necessity that we get one. We need a stud here. Lower priority but still need a RB, WR, Center, and maybe an RT (I'm not sure Rosengarten is all that good). I see that as 5 necessity picks (or high level free agents) and 4 other needs. We'll never hit on all our needs via the draft this year. We might actually have to spend some high money (gasp!) on proven free agents. And I will also add, we need either a much better backup QB or better yet, a QB to groom as Lamar's replacement. After the beatings he has gotten over the last 5-6 years, I think his body is giving out. Now if anybody can develop a plan that gets a haul for all these needs in one off-season, I'll be greatly surprised and very happy! Quote
papasmurfbell Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I think center is a big need too. At 2nd or 3rd round I would get him. We also need 2 dts I think. Quote
tsylvester Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago Yeah, Lindy is a good center but he lacks power, a major reason 3rd and 1 is so hard to pick up. He is going to want too much of deal. Draft a powerful one, Henry won't be back next year and they will need to make some holes up the middle. Wr can wait till 3rd or 4th, shoot, a deep threat? They one and rarely use him. Even then, when they do, either Lamar doesnt have time or inaccurate deep, deep down field. Get a possession receiver, Hopkins cant get separation and likely won't be back either Quote
papasmurfbell Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Do you want a power ol or a finesse ol? You really should not mix them. We have seen both be dominant and win sb. Quote
oldno82 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Since the league rules are biased in favor of the passing game, we're probably looking at a finesse ol if there is a choice that has to be made. i'd prefer a hybrid line like we had when Lamar took off 3-4 years ago. Very unfortunate that we lost a very very good OL coach in D'Allesandris last year. The OL hasn't been the same since. As for new coaches: yes up and down the line. Who's out there that might be available that we could target? Quote
tsylvester Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago There are a couple of centers in thr draft, big, strong, athletic, Logan Jones from Iowa, Jake Slaughter from Florida to just two. There are a few from smaller schools, who can be had later in the draft and likely start right away. Quote
