Are you really trying to equate Steve and what he has done with this team and what woody has continually done in ny?  I d believe in full rebuilds but you have to have ppl in place that can do it.  As I have said for yrs.  It’s not the gm and coach that are problems in perennially bad teams.  It’s the owner.  Look at ne.  Crap for well over a decade then Kraft buys the team and hires smart ppl.

That is where we differ. I think, based on the last few years, that this team is close to being back to what it was, last year.

One draft can fix it, one or two free agents can.

Yes, a coaching change or two as well.

Little tweaks that will make a better outcome.

You heard the players, they got their feelings hurt when they lost the way they did in Buffalo.  This team as it sits, was on the brink of blowing out Buffalo again. Then they got it in their minds that Buffalo would just roll over and boom.

What they did and said after the game shows you that the coach was mostly to blame for not keeping them in the right mindset. For not helping them get over themselves. Thus the clunkers since then.

Yes, this team needs a left tackle and 1 or two guards who may or may not be on the team on offense.

Defense, a big body or two up front, again, who may or may not be on the team. 

Rush end, inside backer, all of which can be had in the draft or via free agency next year.

This team has so many free agents after the season, there is going to be player turnover.

Starters we need the way I see it.
LT or rt, C, OG, DT, DT, EDGE, MLB, and a semi starting TE.  I don’t see how all of that can be gotten in a single off season.  That’s 9 big parts not to mention various backups.

Guards, Bullock and Jones, already on the team, question marks? Sure, but all indications are they can be really good. Why neither has seen the field is anyone's guess. Same reason maybe why Cleveland, who has shown he can be a real good guard & or center; Harbs/oc coach.

Smith at mlb may be slowing but he still one of the better ones. Weak side backer yes, maybe Buchanan, but Im not sold on him. Still, the draft can help there.

Left tackle, draft, some good ones in this comimg draft lower in the round, even better ones in the 27 draft which is expected to be one of the best drafts in a while.

You forget, this same team, minus a player or two, had one of the top offenses in the league last year. The only major change was at guard, one guard spot. Wven with the weak play of Faalele, I might add.

The biggest issue I surmise is the ol coach. Last year he said he wouldnt change much when he took over early in the season.

But this year clearly he has changed something because it is no longer a top running line, nor pass protecting. The offense as a result, no longer tops in the league.

Sure, the injury to Lamar missing 3 games didnt help. But aside from the Bills game, they cant or haven't run consistently nor extended drives.

Remember last yesr they lead the league in 90+ yard drives.

So not so far away, change the ol coach

I am drafting smith’s replacement next April.  Smith is not very good anymore.  For what they pay him he sucks.
no Stanley is not the same.  Also it is missing 2 important dts.

This is a really good point and the ol coach dufus said at the time, he wouldn't make any changes right away but probably would later. That was a red flag I noticed at the time and it looks like it has been borne out.
