Draft Days 2-3

So who would you pick from this bunch?:

 

Day 2 (Rounds 2-3)

Florida DT Caleb Banks

 

"If not for injury concerns and the fact that he missed most of his final college season because of a foot issue, Banks would likely be a first-round pick. He offers a rare combination of size, strength and quickness. He is 6-6, 327 pounds, but he moves like a smaller man. He needs polish and to improve his conditioning."

Washington WR Denzel Boston

"The Ravens brought several receivers into the facility for pre-draft visits, including Texas A&M's KC Concepcion and Boston, who had 20 touchdowns over the past two college seasons. At 6-4, 212 pounds, Boston has the length teams are looking for and knows how to use his body to win 50-50 balls. He's a physical runner with the ball in his hands, and he has punt return value."

Florida C Jake Slaughter

"The Athletic's Dane Brugler has Slaughter as the No. 1 center in the draft. A three-year starter in the SEC, he's well built at 6-5, 305 pounds and is a technician who knows how to utilize leverage. He's also well regarded for his leadership skills and intangibles. Slaughter doesn't have any eye-popping traits, but he gets the job done."

 

Missouri OLB Zion Young

"A two-year starter, Young is expected to be taken in the early stages of the second round. He had 6.5 sacks, 16.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles last season. He lacks elite quickness off the edge, and he still needs to broaden his pass-rushing repertoire. Still, he's a rangy and physical run defender who has the tools to suggest he'll become an effective pass rusher in the pros."

Day 3 (Round 4-7)

Indiana RB Roman Hemby

"Hemby is a no-frills downhill runner who is comfortable as a pass catcher and kick returner. The Maryland native has proven durable and consistent. He has fumbled only twice in 840 career touches. He'd be a solid late Day 3 pick, and his return ability gives him a chance to crack a roster."

 

Maryland S Jalen Huskey

"The Frederick, Md., native said he hit it off with Ravens special teams coordinator Anthony Levine Sr. at the combine. He has extensive special teams experience, and that will be his clearest path to a roster spot. As a safety, he plays with discipline and has great ball skills. Huskey had 11 interceptions over his final three college seasons."

Oklahoma State P Wes Pahl

"Even after signing Luke Elzinga, the Ravens are still in the punter market. Pahl, who has a huge leg, averaged just over 46 yards per punt for the Cowboys and also has experience holding. Other top punter options include Michigan State's Ryan Eckley, Georgia's Brett Thorson and Elon's Jeff Yurk."

I don’t see how we need anymore safeties.  What about tackles and guards?

I like Boston, but would rather they take Elijah Sarrat, wr Indian, great, tough posession receiver, perfect in the slot to work off of Flowers on the outside and the tightends. Excellent after the catch, fearless.

Hemby is a real nice pick in the 5th, earlier would be a strethch. 

Mike Washington would be a better choice maybe, 6'-1, 225 with 4.33 speed. Needs some work on his hands, but he would be ideal to replace Mitchell and possibly be Henry's replacement

They'll draft an Offensive Lineman in Round 1...quite possibly DT Banks in Round 2.

Think they'll go after Slaughter? Rated by most as best C in the draft. For what that's worth. But we definitely need an additional C to what we have now.

Yeah, in this draft, the best center is almost the best of the worst. It depends on how they feel about Blaylock

I gotta think they'll draft a C because, not only do we not know what they've got, I don't think they do either. Cory did give me positive vibes from what limited action he had last year but I have no idea how he'd hold up for a full season. They've got Danny Pinter too who's bounced around Indy but didn't stick there.

As sad as it is, Slaughter might be the best of our 3.

Maybe we should consider a trade.

They have Jones who played at guard last year once he got healthy, did really well. Blaylock is a mauler, who I think would fit well with Simpson and Jones on either side.

The only real question I have is, can they salvage Vorhees? He was a rock star coming out of college before the injury, and while he played subpar last year, it is my belief that the coaching had a lot to do with his poor play.

I think they need a center, guard and tackle.then you have to get in the hoping game.  Stanley or rose can stand up all yr and jones continues to play well.  Add in a new center standing up too.  Unfortunately I think that is to many hopes and this yr will be rocky on the line.

Not necessarily. There's new coaching this year. Warhop is gone and most of the guys we've got played well under D'Allesandris until his unfortunate death. The new offensive line coach could be capable of restoring Vorhees and Rosengarten. And quite possibly upping Blaylock's play as center. Maybe we draft Fano so a rejuvenated Rosengarten can move to LT if Stanley breaks down and Fano takes RT. 

There's a lot of balls in the air right now. There might just be as much reason to be optimistic as there is to be pessimistic.
