The Baltimore Ravens are signing wide receiver Zay Flowers to a four-year, $140 million contract extension that includes $108 million guaranteed, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday.

The Ravens later officially announced Flowers had agreed to a multiyear contract extension.

It's  a good move on many fronts, perhaps no more important than the message it sends to the rookies. Take care of your self on & off the field, work hard, it will result in production in the field, which then will see you rewarded.

I figured this news would bring you out from under the rock 😀

Just an extension for Lamar and if a good majority of this year's draft classmates pan out, the cuts won't matter.

Good, solid drafting is the only way to navigate this cap & salaries, just like the Rams

Even a new contract for Lamar has him with a ton of cap usage next yr.  This was the yr it had to happen.  I believe I heard the ravens will be about 60 mil over the cap next yr.  There are cuts coming.

Yes, yes, I know, every team with a qb worth his salt, plus talent on the roster that is above average, has to have cuts.

Shoot, wait till the Falcons have to pay their qb, on top of the record monies paid to their running back now, that was stupid, we agree on never paying top dollar for a runningback, they too will have to make cuts soon...

The Rams have been "lucky" so far with drafting though their starting reciever doesnt seem to understand that you bite food not people...... eventually it will catch up to them, especially now with their top defensive end and his pay.

Stanley will be gone next year, $22 mil saved in cap, $28 mil dead cap, pretty much anything wash.

Figure Rose will move to left tackle and Jones to right tackle. If they both work out, that is two years of 2 key players on the cheap at 2 positions that take up decent cap space.

Humphrey will be gone, $26 mil cap hit saved, $11 mil dead cap hit, a $15 or so mil savings.

Dawkins and company will do just fine replacing him for 3 years on the cheap at a position that takes up a lot of cap space.

Andrews gone, another wash in cap savings vs dead money. Replaced by 2 current rookies who, for the next 3 years will be very good, very cheap replacements.

$60 mil over? Not any more, the rest in restructuring contracts and a another few cuts replaced by rookie and 1st years.
