cravnravn Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 BIG TIME!!!!!! I went out and purchased another big screen, I picked up a 52" Samsung Plasma, of course the salesman went over with, for sports plasma is the way to go not LCD or LED.. But what he/we failed to discuss was that my home is full of windows and wide open, so any game viewed at night on Plasma is a gorgeous picture, as I can attest to watching the LSU Bama game Saturday night, but watching a 1pm game all I see is window glare... Dam It.. Oh and if you see Wal-Marts Black Friday list, they are advertising the exact same Plasma TV for 498.00, Best Buy has it as their everyday price for 468.00.. Quote
Spen Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Plasmas are more reflective than LCDs but if its a huge problem with the plasma I bet it would at least been a small problem with the LCD so dont beat yourself up too much. 52"? Hmm.....If it will help, I can hold on to that TV for you until you move. Quote
dc. Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I agree with Spen. I got a plasma (great deal at HHGregg when they first opened around here last year or so) and it definitely has some glare, but manageable. Room arrangement can make a huge difference. If it's in front of and facing away from the windows (or closer to that angle), the glare is less. This can also make it harder to watch of course if the windows are bright, but just a thought. Quote

Yup, the glare is unavoidable at my place, its not light in my home, its the amt of windows & french doors..Thats OK, the home in Fla we have our fingers crossed on this TV would be perfect in the garage that the prior owners turned into their family room.
