vmax Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 He may have to do it in order to dissuade the current Stanford blue-chip quarterback from doing what the last one did. In 1983, John Elway told the Baltimore Colts to get bent. Early next year, Andrew Luck could decide that he doesn’t want to work for an organization that arguably is dysfunctional on several different levels. History just might repeat itself. Not too long ago Eli Manning refused to go to the Chargers. Pollian went from being the media darling best GM in the NFL to somewhat of a goat. Now Irsay's taking it on the chin. Elway's getting grief from the fans in Denver...there's some connection here that greater minds than mine can figure out. Quote
BengalBilly Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 The Indianapolis Colts have been on top for a long time now and no team stays there forever. Honestly at my age, when I hear the word "Colts" spoken in football terms, I always think Baltimore first. Some big dude named Unitas wearing a crew cut playing QB. That's just how pro football in Maryland is ingrained in my brain. Quote
