papasmurfbell
On the radio that they believe the Cap will be pretty flat until 2015. They can't get cauht in bad contracts if thats the case.
vmax
Good. The Ravens are not redoing contracts while the Steelers are doing that in excess.
papasmurfbell
Very true. Again I would trade RR and use a cheaper option and let another team have to over pay.
papasmurfbell
http://video.nbcsports.msnbc.com/nbc-sports/46882784at about 8:30 thhey start talking about the cap. They stole money from later caps to get the cap to 120 this yr. The players got bent. D Smith is so poor at his job.
ForceEight
More importantly, they stole cap space from later years in order to penalize the Cowboys and Redskins this year (and afford giving other teams extra space), which is absolutely hilarious to me. papasmurfbell
The Skins and Dallas will win this fight. They broke no rules.
ForceEight
I don't think they will. They absolutely should, but they have 28 or so owners pissed at them for throwing the curve in the first place, plus a power-hungry commissioner who refuses to lose, and a gutless players' union. papasmurfbell
The only problem is they are taking it to court. What the NFL was against the law.
ForceEight
They're not taking it to court, and they most likely won't ever. It's too risky for them and as much as they know they're getting screwed, in the end they're just going to have to deal with it (unless this arbitrator and/or the appeal process changes anything, which isn't likely). Of course it was against the law, and if it was ever taken to court, the NFL would lose every last one of its antitrust rights and agreements (along with the penalties for collusion, obviously), and you know who that would hurt? The Redskins and Cowboys, along with every other team. This won't go much further than it has.

papasmurfbell
“Worst deal in the history of sports” suddenly looks pretty good D Smith so screwed the players then tricked them into giving him a new contract.
