The question Ravens fans should be asking is whether Cundiff is another Scott Norwood, who was cut by the Bills soon after his missed field goal cost Buffalo Super Bowl XXV, or a David Akers, who lost his job with the Eagles after missing two field goals during the 2011 NFC Divisional Round before rebounding with the 49ers last season.

 

No one will be able to answer that until Cundiff has to convert in a high-pressure situation again. But there are more than a few that think he will revert to the abilities he showed in 2010, when Baltimore fans ceased hiding their eyes every time someone other than Matt Stover trotted onto the field.

It's a technicality, but Norwood was not immediately cut by the Bills after the Super Bowl. He was cut during the following year after he missed a couple of PATs.

 

I think Cundiff will be ok. He wasn't an excuse maker. I like that.

Billy can have a great season and if the Ravens make the playoffs I'll be sweating every kick.
