Looks like this is the end for him.

Remember the ton of talk show callers who would say he should be starting over Joe?

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers have released veteran quarterback Troy Smith, a former Ohio State star who won the 2006 Heisman Trophy.

Smith signed with the Steelers earlier this year. He has also spent time with the Omaha Nighthawks (2011) of the United Football League, the San Francisco 49ers (2010) and the Baltimore Ravens (2007-2009). The Ravens drafted him in the fifth round (174th overall) of the 2007 draft.

And Steel, just to clarify, Grbac was a decent QB, if the circumstances were different he would have been welcomed here, but releasing a SB winning QB in Dilfer when the FO's goal was to repeat, didnt sit well with us Baltimoreans. Boller eh, wiell thats just Boller but he did get run out of here with a winning record, not most released QB's can make that claim. And FYI, Smith was a 6th round pick, never projected as a starter.

Oh and the black and yellow have been in the league coming up on 80 years and have only had 2 good QB's come thru their system, and hell the first one was just about booed out of town.

Ok and baltimore only has one good qb and one that has yet to be proven. I thought smith was a 5th round pick and hell I'm not mad at the steelers for taking a look at him from what I've been reading it seems jarrod johnsons shoulder is 100% finally and he is looking pretty good. Some are even saying he may knock batch out but I would rather see lefty go.
