Shut Down Corner

LARDARIUS WEBB

Ravens cornerback

Why Webb is ranked 19th: Few cornerbacks can match the numbers posted by Webb last season. He didn't allow a single touchdown pass in 2011, and opposing quarterbacks posted a miserable 55.6 passer rating on throws into his coverage, according to Pro Football Focus. When quarterbacks did throw his way, Webb made them pay, recording eight interceptions (including three in the playoffs) and breaking up 23 passes.

He came from Nicholls St after issues at Southern Miss. There were off field talk about him. He was on the radar. Most of these pages are gone now but this is what I found.

It is a huge find, if he was that highly thought of as a college player, he would have never made it to the late 3rd round.

Bingo, we got a 1st rd cb in the 3rd rd. On top of that he's not a primadonna and I hope he doesn't become one. He's a lot of fun to watch.

Papa go find somewhere else to be negative. If you're so damn smart, if you're so much better, why aren't you running things? Cmon man, Webb was passed over by alot of people and we snagged him. He was a good find in the 3rd round. Why argue this? What sense does it make?

Know it all's make the best Donkeys.

It's not just how well he covers.

Watch him...he hunts the ball like Ray in his prime.

He's a ballhawking playmaker.

He seals the edge against the run. He's tough, fast and physical without a fat head.

He's a Raven...exactly what is needed at that position.

This kid and Jimmy smith are going to do some special things in this league. In a pass happy league these two are gonna give QBs fits.
