thundercleetz Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Understand, when you hit him with the Tag he dosent get paid til week 1 of the season Yes, but as soon as he signs the tender he is guaranteed that $10.2 million check the first week of the season no matter what. Of course, unless he works out an extension! Quote
ForceEight Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Suggs doesn't care about the tag. Not like McAlister did. We Tag him, he will not show up until the last week of camp. Oh, I don't disagree with that at all. And I don't really blame him. Nevertheless, I don't think he is really all that concerned. Quote
cravnravn Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 But if he shows for Camp, and gets hurt, he gts doosquat Quote

Yes, he gets paid when he signs the tender..But according to CBA rules, he has until the last week of camp to report without getting fined, guarantee thats what he'll do..Just like this past season. He lucked out with the injury bug, maybe this year we wont be o lucky? Quote

vmax Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Thats a creepy ass movie, reminds me of Catonsville. There's nothing like canoeing the Patapsico river! Maybe Ozzie and Suggs agent should give it a try...to work things out...know what I mean?" Quote

If you sign it though, you get the money automatically I believe. That is why Matt Castle signed his tender right away. Quote
yagersports Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Brown is a must sign period. We sign him and the tackles for big money if need be. The guards can be interchangeable. With Flacco at the helm, this is a new era for Ravens football and we WILL protect him. We do not want to make the mistake that both Cincci and Pitt made by havin their offensive lineman walk. Pitt is very very very very very very very lucky that Ben did not suffer a Major injury this year that prevented him from playing. We NEED to protect Flacco. This game is won in the trenches, sign Brown, he's a Pro Bowl talent Center. Quote

I was reading the other day the Steallers have Five OLmen that are free, one I think is a RFA. Found it: OT Max Starks, OT Marvel Smith, OT Trai Essex and OG Chris Kemoeatu are unrestricted while OT Willie Colon is restricted. Quote
RavensNest8483 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 what is the word on Brown? Do the Ravens plan on bringing him back? Do they believe it's a necessity? Of the big FA we have, he is the only one I haven't heard squat about, except everyone on here saying we should sign him. Quote

Of the big FA we have, he is the only one I haven't heard squat about, except everyone on here saying we should sign him. Jason Brown is our best OL-man. He is pretty nice at both pass blocking and run blocking. He was the leader of our line this year (a line which wasn't to shabby). They better sign him, or i'm moving to pitt and becoming a steeler fan....just kidding (okay, i just punched myself in the face...damn that hurt). But seriously, Brown is definitely the "unsung hero" of the offense, and he needs to stick around if we plan on improving on Offense. Just my $0.02... Quote

If we Tag Suggs tomorrow, we wont see him til August 20th or later, and he'll use the media as his liason..I cant believe they cant get him signed..Use the Tag on Brown for petes sake. Quote
cravnravn Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 More Suggs, who has talked about his desire to stay with the Ravens (even suggesting a hometown discount), recently said he wants a long-term deal, not the franchise tag. "If they don't see me in their future long term, do not draw me out when I'm 26," Suggs told TRA Sports 910 in Phoenix on Friday during NBA All-Star festivities. "At least let me explore my options. If you want me on your team, then prove it, do something about it. But if not, we need to part ways and you know it's been a good run." more Quote

That is the risk that Suggs runs. Sign the tender now and get your money guaranteed, or wait and risk getting injured working out on your own. Quote
