colincac Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Why the hell are we doing this AFTER making the rest of the roster cuts? Looks like McKinnie is gone.... https://twitter.com/RavensInsider/status/243022320770359296 http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/ravens-insider/bal-bryant-mckinnie-in-contract-squabble-with-ravens-could-lead-to-his-release-20120904,0,725030.story Koppen got cut by Patriots for similar cost-cutting measures and he would provide nice line depth but he's an interior lineman. We now need a tackle although I'd guess Oher starts at LT and Osemele at RT now... Worried. Quote

Also Vinny said the Ravens were over the cap. Quote
colincac Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 How were we over the cap after being under all summer and also cutting Cundiff? Quote
yagersports Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 This seems like someone in the accounting dept dropped the ball. We're down to two tackles now? I really hope we're planning to bring him back. Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I don't understand. I am not getting that. Quote
colincac Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Albert Breer @AlbertBreerOk. Another text from McKinnie: "Not officially over yet just got a call"#staytuned Quote
yagersports Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Yeah, but what has any of the other tackles done? From what I have seen we only had three guys that could play Tackle, Oher, McKinnie, and Ose. Now we're gonna go with Harwood and Reid as backups??? That is gonna be very hairy. Quote
Dunno Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 (edited) I am not that worried, mainly because Flacco has gotten the ball out much much faster than in previous years. Now if Cameron reverts back to 7+ step drops on every throw while Flacco has to wait for Boldin to run 50 yards down the field on the other hand... Edited September 4, 2012 by Dunno Quote

Robjr83 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Yeah I'm hearing its not "officially" over yet. Why didn't Oz settle this at the start of camp? Quote
papasmurfbell Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 They were wondering if they would cut him. Hell the guy was held out of camp. The guy is a flake. Quote
yagersports Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 He's a flake yes. He's also our best LT lol. It's hard to admit, but it's true. I really hope that we're able to work something out. It's pretty rare for our front office to be behind the 8 ball at this stage of the game. My gut tells me they get it done. Quote
Robjr83 Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 He's the Haynesworth of LT's. I cant believe Oz is doing this one week before the season starts. I don't want to see Oher on the left side, thats the reason we got McKinnie. Quote
thundercleetz Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 McKinney, Oher, I don't think there is that great of a difference. I think the real reason behind making this move is that KO forced his way into the lineup. There may be a little drop off from McKinney to Oher at left tackle, but I think we gain strength as a unit by having KO at RT, or placing KO at LG and Jah Reid at RT. Quote
FlaccoForever Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 He's the Haynesworth of LT's. I cant believe Oz is doing this one week before the season starts. I don't want to see Oher on the left side, thats the reason we got McKinnie. You're saying that because I'm assuming you don't think they will go full no huddle which actually helps Oher. Most fans like you probably think the Ravens will run the same offense they run every year and they were just teasing us with the no huddle talk. I'm telling you now they are dead serious about running the no huddle offense. Oher is more nimble and quicker in that set than McKinnie. Quote
yagersports Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Isn't Reid a nightmare though? I thought this guy couldn't even play guard all that well. Quote
