steelersfan Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Patriots have signed Emmanuel Sanders. He was most likely going to be our #2 WR. Quote
OutsideRzAcE Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Wow...signing an RFA away from another team. The Patriots always buck the trend. Quote
steelersfan Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 i'm a little concerned about losing him, but I'm not sure what the Patriots see in him. He would have probably been our #2 WR this year, but ability-wise he seems like a #3 to me. I would compare him to Nate Washington who now plays for Tennessee. Oh well, we'll get a 3 RD pick for him and we should be able to draft somebody who can match his production and skill. EDIT: And I may have jumped the gun a little because I don't exactly understand all the rules about free agency. It seems Sanders has signed an offer sheet with the Patriots, and the Steelers now have a week to look it over. Quote

They just worked him out yesterday and are considering it. Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Yeah I'm reading he left NE without an offer sheet. I would take the third or try and work it a trade for mayo 1 Quote
thesteelhurtin Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Well he signed and personally I want the pick. Sanders is hurt a lot and has feet issues. Last year was his best year and he still only had 44 catches and 1 td. That's not hard to replace. Now the Steelers need to trade down in the first and pick up some more picks. Right now they have 4 in the top 100 5 or 6 would be really nice. Also I think gilreath will replace Sanders just fine and Brown, Burress, and cotch are still a good group of wide outs plus whoever they draf. I'm hoping they use this pick on goodson from Texas dude can fly. 1 Quote
