  1. Preston is saying what we fans have been saying for a few weeks. There is no question Ray should come out on obvious passing downs. I couldn't believe they left him in on the Bengals final drive. But Harbaugh or Pagano would be nuts to open that can of worms now. Ideally Ray would acknowledge it himself now, but since he won't, just let it go until the postseason. As far as Reed goes, I don't think he's in the same category yet. Even with the missed tackles he is still a huge boost in coverage 9 out of 10 times.
  2. Or is it VI? I've lost count. Anyway, in today's epispode, Suggs wonders, among other things, whether he can put up better numbers than Tim Tebow in Denver. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zk6IRGSDeOE
  3. Yes...if Houston wins Saturday we get them no matter what happens in the other game since they'd be the highest remaining seed coming out of the wildcard round. If Cinci wins then they automatically go to NE since they are the lowest seed in the AFC, and we'd get the winner of Pitt-Denver.
  4. That was awesome. It feels great to see our guys celebrate like that.
  5. Awesome...as long as our defense doesn't pull another San Diego, we stay in games & feed the beast!
  6. He's awesome...fast becoming one of my favorite Ravens. I love listening to his show Cover 2 on 105.7 on Tuesday nights. He is humble and shows up every week win or lose.
  7. Someone can merge this with the "Looking Ahead" thread. I probably should have just posted it there.
  8. We play Sunday. It won't happen, but I would be so happy if the Steelers lose to Denver then have to go to NE after a short week. NFL WILD CARD WEEKEND Saturday, January 7 AFC: 4:30 PM (ET) Cincinnati at Houston (NBC) NFC: 8:00 PM (ET) Detroit at New Orleans (NBC) Sunday, January 8 NFC: 1:00 PM (ET) Atlanta at Dallas/N.Y. Giants (FOX) AFC: 4:30 PM (ET) Pittsburgh at Denver (CBS) NFL DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS Saturday, January 14 NFC: 4:30 PM (ET) New Orleans/Dallas-N.Y. Giants/Atlanta at San Francisco (FOX) AFC: 8:00 PM (ET) Denver/Pittsburgh/Cincinnati at New England (CBS) Sunday, January 15 AFC: 1:00 PM (ET) Houston/Denver/Pittsburgh at Baltimore (CBS) NFC: 4:30 PM (ET) Dallas-N.Y. Giants/Atlanta/Detroit at Green Bay (FOX)
  9. This is one of the benefits of the bye for fans. We don't have to look ahead too hard. We can just sit back and enjoy some stress free playoff football next week. I am going to enjoy the shit out of next weekend. The Houston-Bengals game is a toss up in my eyes. Houston has a great D and a better running game than we do, but they barely beat the Bengals last time. Pittsburgh should have no problem with Denver. Even though they won't have Mendenhall, they have good depth at running back. Interestingly Ryan Clark won't be able to play either I bet. He sits out all games in Denver because he almost died a few years ago due to some sickle cell illness that doesn't play well with the Mile High air
  10. I know the SB is the goal, especially with how vulnerable the rest of the teams are in the AFC, but I am really going to enjoy this division title. This is only the Ravens' second title in the North right?
  11. It would be for friends and relatives of Benagls fans. You asked earlier how they could make sure Ravens fans weren't buying the tickets. The best way is to limit that is to have anyone that want to take advantage of this promotion go through STHs. Email from Bengals to their STHs "As you may have heard at the end of today's game, the Bengals have a special ticket promotion for all of our season ticket holders. We are asking your help to give us a homefield advantage versus the Ravens next weekend, with a special friends and family offer: all season ticket holders can invite their friends and family to get tickets through you on a buy one, get one free basis. That's right - you can offer them a special price by utilizing your season ticket status in order to join you at our Bengals-Ravens game next Sunday. In a HUGE game with playoff implications, a loud and proud stadium could make a difference in willing the team to victory over the Ravens and earning a spot in the NFL playoffs. So wear your orange and black and get your family and friends here with you for an exciting afternoon, when the loud crowd is joining the defense in making life miserable for Baltimore! To take advantage of this special offer and purchase tickets, call 513-621-8383 starting Monday with your account information.
  12. It was only available to Bengals Season-Ticket holders
  13. Well if he gets fired he'll get paid the rest of his contract. If he quits he gets diddly squat. Also, if he quits he can forget about ever getting another coaching job again. No-one wants to hire a quitter. There is really no advantage to resigning.
  14. It would be fitting if he did. 50 was relevant 5 years ago, kinda like the free agents they are signing.
  15. uhhh...what? That has to be the most difficult way possible to say what they are trying to say.
  16. Having so much to play for could work against the young Bengals. Look at how the Bengals have played down the stretch with bad second halves against Arizona and Houston and a unimpressive victory at St Louis. They might end up playing too tight vs if they had nothing to play for. The Ravens won't have that problem.
  17. If the Ravens have to go back to Pittsburgh, they will not win. They need to win the division so that they (a) force Pittsburgh to have to come to Baltimore if they make it that far, and (b) force the Steelers to keep playing/prevent Roethlisberger from having another week off. As for the Bengals...they are 2-1 in their last 3 but still haven't beaten a good team all year. I watched the end of the game against Houston, and a good amount of the game in St. Louis and it's obvious to me that.the Bengals aren't playing as well as they were when they came to Baltimore. As a Ravens fan, I am concerned because we have no idea what team we'll get on the road. If I were a Bengals fan I wouldn't be confident either however. Hopefully Cary is ok...we will need him against Andy "what the hell, i'll just throw it deep and see what happens" Daulton. All hands on deck in the secondary
  18. I don't get it. What am I missing?
  19. I didn't appreciate how good it was the first time I saw it during the Ravens game. Excellent play
  20. Yanda's injury worries me the most. We can't afford to lose him on the line.
  21. I did not get a chance to sit and focus on the game until midway through the 4th. How bad are the injuries to Yanda and Cary Williams? I can't find anything on them online.
  22. lol..shell shocked. That's a good way to describe him
  23. They used him on a kick returns against San Diego late in the game. I think the job is his again. I keep thinking Dickson could do a good job filling Boldin's role on the offense, even though he's a tight end and obviously a bigger guy. Maybe it's the way we use Boldin. Boldin is on the slow side for a wideout and Dickson is on the fast side for a TE. I think Dickson may even be faster than Boldin. There we go...problem solved.
  24. You don't start Curtis Painter for 8 games unless you're trying to secure the #1 pick. Now they're going to win themselves out of the #1 overall pick? Even if St Louis or Minnesota don't want to draft luck, i'm sure they'd be more than willing to trade the pick away to a team that does.
