Why not 19-0?

The Ravens don't have Tom Brady and Bill Bellichek papa. If you have Tom Brady you can stay competitve with a bunch of role players.

Sounds like a move with an eye on the future. If Pees doesn't pan out or retires this could be the next guy in line.

What did you guys think? It needs a few tweaks here and there but I thought overall it was a good idea and an entertaining show. The Ravens were well represented with Suggs and Birk winning DPOY and Walter Payton MOY awards.

I was hyped when they announced he won. You could tell he was excited too from the way he bounced out of his seat. I don't know that he expected to win. He gave a nice speech shouting out Ray, Reed, his coaches, the Ravens, and Ravens Fans.

I think they were pissed this year because they blew a 14 point lead to the Steelers in the playoffs last year. They could come out next year and use this loss as fuel just as they did with the Pittsburgh loss last season, or they could just as easilty be demoralized after blowing great opportunities in two consecutive years. This is what I'm afraid of - I have to think at some point you stop getting pissed and you start losing confidence. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I concur. He is a great player and it would be a waste to let him go now after we had to suffer through a year of injury and relationship building with Joe. He can only do better, and having gone thru what he did with the drop I think he is less likely to have a let down in a big spot than say another wideout who hasn't been in that position before.

I don't think we resign Grubbs. Between him and Yanda, that's a lot of oline money to put into non-tackles. Sadly JJ will probably go since Kruger is ready to take over his spot. Cutting Foxworth would appear to be a given and I think would save 4-5 mil.

Yea this is just the guy they need to get Joe fired up before games! I didn't even know Caldwell was an offensive guy. Anyone who evaluated the Colts roster and thought Curtis Painter deserved a spot should not have a job coaching QBs.

I don't know what was worse. Letting Rivers in after throwing the 3rd most INT's in the league and leading his team to a whopping 8 wins, or letting a rookie in over a guy who had better stats and led his team to the afc championship game (and played well in it)

Cam's fine. It's better to have continuity going into next year than have to redo the whole offense in my opinion. Pagano had me pumped up from the start after I read the transcript to his presser. You know what pissed me off. Running the ball on first down three straight times to start the game. He finally started switching it up after that, but that was pretty dumb.

I'm curshed. Never in a million years did I think Cundiff would miss that FG. I wasn't done swearing at Evans for dropping TD passes. I've been trying to figure out what makes some players choke under pressure and others clutch. We have a history of chokers here now. You think an unnamed player is dropping the ball for Brady? For Bellicheck? This has happened to us 2 years in a row! I really think we've spoiled out best chance at a SB in the Ed Reed era and that makes me very sad for him.

Suggs is slowing taking the leadership role from Ray. Good for him - I think Flacco needed that.

Good post 52. I agree completely. I think people who say Flacco played like crap are being completely unfair given the circumstances of the game (bad oline, no separation from wideouts, drops, etc..). After hearing the whole interview I am letting off the gas a little bit on my Reed-bashing. The things he said were definitely more innocent when you listen to the whole interview. Still - he should have know better, especially considering the mini fiasco before the season where espn made it seem like he was saying the Ravens wished they had Ryan as their head coach.

And another thing. I wonder why he didn't call out the receivers. He called out everyone else...but didn't mention the guys dropping passes (looking at you Dickson and Smith) or just plain not getting open.
