  1. ditto. It's like they're not even trying on offense. I just gave up the big tv to kids and volunteered to watch the rest of the game on the computer. I never give up the big tv during a ravens game. The offense is so pathetic it actually pains me to watch.
  2. Count me among the converts. I wouldn't mind having Rex back as DC though. Looks like this might be his last year.
  3. The Steelers D played very well but you have to also take it with a grain of salt. I don't think the Ravens offense was being very aggressive after taking a 13-7 lead. With the Ravens D holding leftwich in check there was little need to take any risks
  4. I was listening to the afternoon show on Pittsburgh's 93.7 the Fan and even they thought this was asinine.
  5. Get well Max!
  6. I actually see potential in Upshaw. He makes a play here and there and you can see him setting and holding the edge well on running plays. He's not doing anything as a pass rusher yet, but at least he is making an impact at times against the run. That's more than I can say for Jimmy Smith. You never see him physically blanketing a receiver. He is always a yard or two away. He is a big physical looking guy that plays soft. The Steelers receivers are going to eat this guy up in two weeks and we better not have him on Denarius Moore vs Oakland.
  7. What I meant is that the more moderate republicans in the House need to reclaim the repubican party from the Tea Party extreme right. These officials that put party before the good of the country (i.e. Mitch "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president." McConnell) all need to be marginalized in favor of party members that are willing to actually look for areas to compromise instead of just blocking every piece of legislation the white house puts forth. What good does it do to turn even the most trivial thing like a debt ceiling increase (something that has been done 40 times in the past 30 years) into a long drawn out fight - one that ended up costing the country over a billion dollars? Enough with the fillabusters, enough with contesting every judicial nominee at an unprecedented rates. And all for what - as part of some selfish plan to stall the recovery enough so you could say 'see...look Obama hasn't done anything?' I have read a little about Gary Johnson, but since PA is up for grabs I have to make my choice between Obama and Romney. For me that is a pretty easy choice.
  8. Obviously it was not helmet to helmet but it was definitely a late hit. They don't call these enough. The ball never even got to Cruz because the defender in front on him deflected it, and Ryan clark sees this before he loads up and unleashes on Cruz. Look at the slow motion replay in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPEnK1NGS9U You want to advocate player safety then throw flags when this happens. Hell I understand if he catches the ball and you're trying to jar it loose but all too often players will take shots at receivers when it is clear the pass is going to be incomplete. Like I said, Clark is a dirty player...a cheap shot artist.
  9. I have been hearing the crying about the officials all morning. Steelers fans are overreacting. The shot on Cruz by Ryan clark was late and cheap. He is becoming quite the dirty player..picking up where Hines Ward left off. The ben fumble...the ball is clearly wobbling as he pushes it forward. That was the right call. Heath Miller runs in front of someone and tries to bait the officials into a call by flopping so that was a good non-call. William Gay did the same thing last year to get an 80 yard TD run by Ray Rice called back. I'm glad the officials are catching on.
  10. Solid win I think the D was much improved. Yes it was the Browns, but these Browns ran and threw all over us in M&T a few weeks ago. Ellerbe and McClain were excellent. Jimmy Smith still looks like a bust....that Graham guy looks like he is decent. Joe was frustrating to watch. He needs to step it up or this team will lose a lot of games in the 2nd half of the season.
  11. You can't take that chance. Especially with americans falling behind in math and science, you have to push advancement. As Obama said in a recent interview "The country that controls new sources of energy, not just the traditional sources, is going to have a huge competitive advantage 10 years from now, 20 years from now, 30 years from now." Green energy is the future, and you can't just assume America will get there first. Great interview from Obama in the De Moins Register if you haven't read it already. The schmucks ended up endorsing Romney, but still, it's a good read. The race shouldn't be this close. On the economy, we've tried tax cuts for the wealthy for the past 12 years. It DOESN'T work. Romney wants to futher cut taxes by 20% and it's going to hurt the middle class when he cuts things like the mortgage interest credit and child care credit to pay for it. Obama has tried to work with Republicans in congress (2 for 1 spending cuts in exchange for tax increases for the wealthy) and they've don't nothing but obstruct for the past 2 years in hopes of making the economy bad enough that Obama doesn't get re-elected. You don't reward them by giving them the presidency. The Tea Partiers like Cantor, Rand Paul, and McConnell need to lose their power and if Obama gets re-elected I think the more moderate republicans will see the big picture and finally start to speak up against them. If people voted to protect their interests the race would not be this close. The republicans have long been good at getting people to vote against their interests.
  12. Can you download it?
  13. I missed this thread, and posted another one about these unis in NFL general. When I saw the title of the thread this morning I instantly knew what it was about
  14. I think their strategy is to make RG3's eyes bleed.
  15. You probably couldn't see how the Titans D could stop the Steelers O also. Those are nice stats...here are two more. The Ravens have given up 23 Points per game and the Steelers have given up 22. So like I said, the Steelers are not much better on D even though you are trying to delude yourself into thinking otherwise.
  16. The teams will likely split their series this year since both aren't so great on the road. The Ravens defense is garbage right now but they will improve as Suggs get's into game shape and everyone else gets used to their new roles after the Ray and Webb injuries. The Steelers defense isn't much better and they lost to Oakland and Tennessee so I wouldn't be puffing my chest out too far steel. Also, as far as Flacco being average...he usually plays well against Pitt - even on the road.
  17. Cleveland will be dangerous but so will the Ravens. Suggs will be 2 weeks stronger, Ngata and reed will be 2 weeks healthier. I am not getting too worked up about this loss..you could see it coming a mile away. Houston has played us tough but just come up short the past 2 or 3 times, they just came off a trouncing at home, and they are the most complete team in the AFC. Add to that the Ravens just lost thier best cover guy and..well I won't say Ray's injury hurt the team (I'm sorry I love Ray but I think his loss is addition by subtraction at this point in his career). We've already beaten the 2nd best team in the conference (yes I think the Pats are better than the Ravens). Aside from those two teams everyone else sucks in the AFC. The Ravens will make the playoffs, they have 10 weeks to figure out how to get this defensive line to gel and play well. If Suggs can spark McPhee and Ngata against the run and pass, the rest of the D will fall in to place. In this game he was already attracting double teams and setting the edge better than anyone else so far this season. The offense....we need to take some of the inconsistency out of it on the road. That just means sticking to the run on the road. Joe got overwhelmed today. He started strong and then the Texans shook him. He should be past that at year 5, but that's just Joe...he has Road stinkers 2 or 3 times a year.
  18. 5-2 at the bye...not too shabby. Seeing the starters drop like flies this year makes you realize what an opportunity they let slip through their fingers last year when they were almost completely healthy going into the playoffs. Still the majority of games on the road. Suggs is going to be huge for the D down the stretch. Even though we got blown out today, you could see how much better the Dline played with him demanding attention.
  19. Kindle was one of two useless players on the Ravens active Roster. The other one that needs to go is Ed Dickson
  20. This is the same defense we have seen all year. Only difference is no turnovers and no offense to mask the putrid performance.
  21. 2nd half is practice time for the offense. Sit Flacco too if they keep getting shots on him.
  22. Ngata and Suggs need to be sitting. This game is over. Harbargh always sucked at managing injuries
  23. How do you combat these batted balls? Shorter routes i guess?
  24. Good question. St. Louis last year?
