  1. Just for comparison, Herbert signed, 5 years, $262.5 mil, The deal includes $133.7 million fully guaranteed, $193.7 million with an injury guarantee and jumping potentially to $218.7 million guaranteed, sources tell ESPN
  2. To be expected with a list franc injury
  3. So the runningbacks had their little zoom meeting, a day later, Barclay signs a 1 year deal, max allowed, for a little over 900k more than his tender? Oh and if he was willing to take that little bit extra, why turn down the long term deal the Giants offered last month that was roughly 1 mil less than you wanted? But paid more per year than you signed for?
  4. Bateman back, activated...
  5. I hope Pepe comes back soon, he showed signs last year when given the chance that he might be turning the corner. Not sure why JK would be having knee issues now, an entire off season to rest the knee that after clean up surgery last year, looked good...
  6. Interesting move signing Melvin Gordon, an often injured back.
  7. Im a big Liberty fan, my daughter graduated from there and is working on her masters with them. I've seen a ton of Willis, he just doesn't see the whole field, has little anticipation. He is used to throwing to guys wide open, not throwing guys open. But time will tell. Training camp! Woo Hoo
  8. I would have preferred Hop over OBJ, 2 knee injuries concern me about his health for a whole season. $11.5 mil a season for Hop, plus 6 in incentives is quite the deal for 2 years. Man, what could the Jets, the Chiefs, maybe even the Ravens must have offered for him to sign so "cheaply" in Ten, who still does not know who their qb will be. I like Levi's a lot but he is a rookie, Tan is clearly at the end of his career, and Willis, while a decent college qb, is not an NFL qb..
  9. 2 years $26 million with the Titans, including $6 mil in incentives. Not bad, one has to wonder what other teams offered, I think that is a pretty good deal
  10. Yeah, he is the type of guy to let it all fly...
  11. Guess we will find out if Cleveland was worth the pick or another failed pick
  12. Wow, a long, fascinating read, if you have time, I highly recommend it. Far too long to post, sorry https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/37965420/the-secret-history-dan-snyder-demise-washington-commanders-owner
  13. Yep, some serious positional battles, this should be interesting. I hope they stay healthy
  14. I almost agree with him, except we here in Bmore have at least one player in our ring of honor who should not be in there, and he was chosen by the owner, not the fans
  15. Yes, Mister "I'm not going back in game" https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/37969468/ex-rb-corey-dillon-rips-bengals-ring-honor-selection-process Former Bengals running back Corey Dillon is flipping mad about the franchise's ring of honor selection process. The Bengals' all-time leading rusher -- who once famously said he'd "flip burgers" during a contract dispute with the club -- took shots at how the team honors its former players. In an interview with The Athletic published Thursday, Dillon didn't hold back as he took umbrage with the process that features votes from season-ticket holders and suite holders. He said it was "garbage" and the selection should be done directly by the front office or a special committee. "This ain't a popularity contest," Dillon told the outlet. "This is football. You are going to put in somebody who is more popular than somebody who got stats? "Bengals are smart. I give it to them. We will put it in the hands of the season-ticket holders, so they don't have to take that backlash over who the voters are picking. That's bulls---. The s--- should come straight from the team. Half these season-ticket holder people never seen half of us play".
  16. Joe was on fire that year, you could have been the tight end and had succes
  17. Let's just hope for a healthy camp
  18. Per NBC Ravens: Rookies 7/18, Veterans 7/25
  19. Hmm, good question, but yes, I do.
  20. I would put Heap at 2, Andrews at 3, Pita was good but could not stay healthy and his blocking left a lot to be desired. I'll never forget seeing Sharpe take that "fumble" on the screen pass to Jamal down the sidelines to a touchdown against the Broncos in the playoff game. Turned rhe tide
  21. True to a point papa, no doubt. The difference this year, however, is this team saw how far they went, how close they came to a super bowl run, the goal line. That with a terrible, okay, that is perhaps too strong a word, but a qb not ready for pre season games, let alone playoff games. The line was healthy for once in a long time, the secondary not only played up to their level of play, but several 3rd year players finally reached their potential and played well. Lamar is clearly light years ahead of any of our back ups, who knows what Bekham will add, if he will stay healthy, or if Bateman will be able to help out. But Likely showed he can be a force, I would not be surprised to see Todd use him as a wide out, in the slot, on the edge. He did that at Georgia with the two great tight ends he had to take advantage of matchups. Oh yes, and the line is back, just about intact, that means a lot. Factor in Todd, and yes, this could be maybe should be a special year. A super bowl appearance or win? Who knows, but yes, certainly not a 6 win or less season, rather playoffs and beyond.
  22. The main "thing" that has derailed this team over the past few seasons has been injuries. Whether it was on offense or defense, sometimes both, injuries have killed this team. They now, thanks in part to the injuries, have real depth at most every position. I think I agree with Smith, that this could be a special season.
  23. Nice read from Smith https://www.nfl.com/news/roquan-smith-believes-ravens-are-in-for-something-special-in-2023 Count Roquan Smith among the many who believe this is their year. "I'm just excited to get out there and fly around with the guys, because I think we're in for something special," the Ravens linebacker said, via the team's official site. "And I think myself, personally, I think it's going to be probably my best year, at least the way I feel physically and mentally." Smith has legitimate reason to be excited. He's moved past the contract dispute that prompted his trade from Chicago to Baltimore, receiving a new five-year, $100 million deal from the Ravens and returns as a key part of a defense built to win in 2023. He's also operating with the luxury of time. This time around, Smith won't have to learn defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald's scheme, and his future in Baltimore is solidified. He's an important member of his team -- and he's ready to play with a vengeance. "We want all the smoke, honestly," Smith said. "There's a lot of payback that we have out there. We'll get to it when we get to it, one week at a time." Baltimore acquired Smith in the middle of the 2022 season, a campaign that included its own helping of adversity, starting with the loss of quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens still found a way to reach the playoffs, but their loss to Cincinnati on Super Wild Card Weekend brought an unceremonious end to their season, leaving many feeling empty-handed. Smith expects much more from 2023, a year that is expected to test the Ravens in a competitive AFC North and loaded conference. Baltimore will have to bring it every week, and with a defense that includes a blend of young playmakers and seasoned veterans, the Ravens have high hopes. There’s no time for Smith to have mercy on opponents. "Never scared. Wasn't born scared, wasn't planning to die scared," Smith said. "I think most of the guys on the defense live the same way. People may fear us, [and] we want to strike that. At the end of the day, we're coming out to take your heads off."
  24. Mm have to say Oba, since he tossed me a game ball in the 4th quarter of the Ravens blow out playoff win against the Broncos enroute to their first super bowl
  25. For me, & I love Trent, but Vinnie was the best, thus far. His only fault was not having a defense that could stop a tissue blowing on the ground. Not his fault. Joe, you know how I feel, the team let him down with a terrible line, he has to be #2, that playoff run to win the Super Bowl! Like Vinnie, had the team done them better, they each would be Hall of Fame worthy... Lamar is clearly a better qb than Trent, but so far, Trent was a better leader, so he gets the nod. Time will tell though. Steve, it was a disappointment, but who could know the true life he was leading. Had his head and heart been here, man, who knows what could have been.
