Take their hope right from the start plain & simple. They are looking for a reason to quit, to do their own thing and earn a big contract somewhere else. I was hoping, coming into this week there would be an announcement that the Ravens & Smith had agreed on a new contract...the bye week is a great time to take care of that end of the business, guess not. So, use this game as a stepping stone, build chemistry, work together, get the timing and accuracy down. Let us fans cheer you on and relax in the 4th, for once this year....

The Bill's made a huge mistake going for 2 with 10 minutes left in the game, up by 10. You don't put a game away with that much time left, take the field goal, the positive reward for a nice drive, go up 13. Yes, still two scores, but at least they need to make 2 extra points to beat you on a windy, cold night. Maybe you go for 2 with 8 mins left, for sure with 5 mins, then you put a game away by going up 17. As a result, a turnover, a positive play for the other team even if they were going to get the ball back on a turnover on downs. Dallas made a similar mistake not taking the field goal, in over time, sure 52 yards in the cold in Green Bay, not easy, but better than that choice of plays...

True, but use Google

The goofy graph at the top is for deep ball passing, minimum of 14 passes

Josh Allen, 2 picks, both in the redzone, one ends the game in ot. One fumble, on his goal line, that gives the Vikes the lead with 40 seconds left in the game. 4 redzone picks in the last 2 games... food for thought

Holy crap, turned the Bill's game on just for shots & giggles. Wow, what an ending to the game! Perhaps the best ever.

This year he is Max, too concerned with being a pocket passer, growing pains as it were, me thinks. He should get back to his normal completion %

It's a nice read on a bye Sunday, good to hear/read that Jackson is being a mentor. https://ravenswire.usatoday.com/2022/11/12/ravens-wr-coach-tee-martin-discusses-impact-of-wr-desean-jackson-on-wr-room/ The Baltimore Ravens have had a rollercoaster year when it comes to the wide receiver position over the course of the 2022 season. They’ve seen players such as Devin Duvernay step up, while Rashod Bateman is currently out for the year with a foot injury. In order to fill out some of the holes in the room, Baltimore brought in veteran wideout DeSean Jackson to their practice squad. When asked about Jackson’s impact, Ravens wide receivers coach Tee Martin discussed how Jackson has been a veteran presence in the room, with the younger players listening to what he has to say due to his vast experience. “It’s been great because he’s a veteran player. He’s going into year 15, and you look at the room before he came, [it was] a very young group. I was looking around, and Demarcus Robinson was the elder statesman in the room. With seven years, that’s good, but to know who DeSean Jackson is as a person, what he’s done in this league at a high level, a good who’s still playing at a high level. One of the first times he walked into the room, the rest of the guys respected him instantly because they know who DeSean Jackson is. So, that’s been great because when he says something, they listen because they know he’s speaking from experience; he’s not just talking. He’s competitive; he practices hard. He’s just a great example of how you get to play in this league for 15 years. So, it was good for guys like Rashod [Bateman] and James Proche and Devin Duvernay, guys who have skillsets but are fairly young in that room, to have a veteran like DeSean Jackson to show up and still compete and play at a high level.”

Here is a look at how the Bill's were able to work Allen's monster contract, for reference https://www.profootballnetwork.com/josh-allen-contract-details-salary-bonuses/

Great, use these games to get that accuracy back...
-
Excuse me, $290 mil was turned down, So either he wants $300 mil or wants the guaranteed money
-
It is true buddy, most qbs in the draft do not work out, for one reason or another. Some are good back ups, come in for a game here or there but over the course of a season, defenses figure them out. Lamar is locked in on that $300 mil fully guaranteed, so why wait until 2024 to move him? Especially when you want to sign a great mlb? Huntley knows the system, tag & trade Lamar, draft a qb with potential, give hom a year to learn the system while Huntley runs the offense. You get draft capital, get to see if Huntley can do the job with a good offensive line/running game and strong defense. By 2024 you have your answer at qb with a good core young team.
-
Huntley can and has done that. I don't put much stock in a qb hitting a wide open man, more so in one missing a wide open man. I am happy with the team max, just asking a question, is a fully guaranteed contract for $300 mil worth it if... With a solid defense, good offensive line, a Huntley /drafted qb can help this team win... food for thought stuff ya know..

You know that I have long been an out spoken opponent of Roman's. But the last few games he has really opened up his play book with some great schemes and timely play calls. Now the biggest hurdle has been Lamar and his accuracy. Once that comes back to the way he used to throw, high 60's, low 70's, this offense will take off.
-
True, however I will counter with McDonald, who has made great adjustments as each game passes. With players understanding more of his ways of calling plays, with him seeing how best to use the players, what they are good at doing, it appears that he has found out how to stop the bleeding, as it were. We shall see..

Week 18 will be a good time to have a fake bye week, rest some players... that game may not be needed
-
Thnx oldno, to bring this back to the qb discussion, I wonder if with all of the aforementioned can a journeyman qb keep, make this team a winner? Sure, he has to be able to run so that the read option is still a threat. We know that Huntley can run and he does have good touch on passes that need it, also on deep throws. He just doesn't have the rocket arm Lamar does nor the true wiggle on runs to be honest.
-
I was thinking about that move earlier today, Reich for Roman. Some people are just best suited for being coordinators and not head coaches... I wonder if Saturday is just a place holder for the rest of the year until Sean Peyton is able to coach with out draft compensation

Untested? This isn't college football. They were tested last year, all of the subs that were forced to play major snaps most of the year. They were tested in the Miami game, trying to hold a huge lead, it ain't easy, same with Buffalo. Now that they are just about fully healthy, this season is about building chemistry, finding out what works (new DC). Yes, they will be tested, staying focused in games where they are favored, against bad teams,. What do most players do on bad teams? They play for contracts, which means they break scheme, they are harder to block, harder to plan for, can be a real challenge. Oh they will be tested, this is essentially the same core group of players who went 14-2. With Smith now leading the defense, with Williams coming back in December, a fully healthy Peters & Humphries, experienced back ups, all along the defensive line and in the secondary, this defense should be very, very good. The line is working out great with Stanley back, with Powers at guard, Lindy at center, Moses at the other tackle and pretty good depth too boot, once Gus and JK get back, with how well now Drake has taken to this running system plus how well Justice is now playing, yes, this run game will be able to run against anyone. What does a playoff team need? What travels well? Defense & running game, both need reps to work cohesively, reps against bad teams works just fine...
-
Baby steps, as I said, they outscored their opponent in the 4th. With chemistry built, injured players coming back (Williams) and the addition of Smith, I think it will be a thing of the past. McDonald seems to be really figuring out how best to use these guys and get the most pressure on qbs....
-
Wow did Houston & Cambell put the Malochi crunch on Dalton, holy smolley
-
Perhaps more important, they had a 17-6 lead starting the 4th quarter, outscored the Saints 10-7 in said quarter. Baby steps
-
Watching the 2nd half now. The Saints had the ball ONCE, in the third quarter, wow. A great job by the offense on the opening drive of the half to hold the ball for almost 7 minutes, should have had a touchdown (twice) but Tucker needs his pts too right? Also a fabulous job by the defense to bend and not break. Max, before the game I was wondering if Tucker could make a 72 yarder in the dome
