  1. Wow, 2nd defensive touchdown by the Vikes stopped and over turned by an early whistle
  2. Been waiting for the comeback, sure enough, 36-28 Colts with 5 mins left..... Colts doing everything you can't do with a big lead, penalties, incomplete passes, defensive break downs...
  3. As usually happens when you take the normal out of a player's routine... The Vikes are melting down in the first half, Colts with a special teams & defensive touchdown, up 30-0 with 4 mins left in the first half, ouch...
  4. Well, Stanford did not help us out... Here is an excellent read on the air raid offense, on an up & coming offensive coordinator in Graham Harrell, a name I would love to see on the Ravens coaching staff.. Hammer and Rails: Sound the Alarm. Walters hires Air Raid Offensive Coordinator Graham Harrell. https://www.hammerandrails.com/2022/12/16/23512563/sound-the-alarm-walters-hires-air-raid-offensive-coordinator-graham-harrell
  5. You can bet Cleveland will have 9 in the box to stop the run. Roman is going to have set the run up with the pass, run properly, at them, between the tackles, let the backs find the cut back lanes as they FINALLY did against Pit
  6. Getting injured players back does not count in the grade for Eric. Signing Williams and trading for Smith are A++ moves. One with a caveat, if Smith is signed or not. After that, his draft so far brings the grade down, way down. Owe has not shown much, granted they use him more in pass coverage, and to eat up blockers to free up rushers. Still, he was drafted to get sacks, pressures, fail. Drafting Cleveland a good move, he has shown great promise when given the chance. Mason has been a bust even for a 5th rounder, Wallace, I was high on him but for what ever reason, he has not played much in a wr needy offense. Hayes, another defender that has not turned up much at all. Hamilton has been slightly better than I thought (I thought him a bust if you remember). Still struggles in coverage, but blitzes well. Ojaba, in a year when the team needed a pass rusher desperately and wide out help, they draft an injured project. Jury has to be out since he has not come back from the injury. So far, his A++ has been dropped, IMHO, to a B- maybe a C+. Again, it all hinges on Smith, Ojab, and Owe. If Smith walks and the other 2 never provide what they were highly drafted for, he could get D. Can't fault him too much for wide out issues, they've been a part of this team since inception, since Jackson and Alexander (both drafted by Ozzie in Cleveland) left.
  7. Huntely cleared protocol, Harbs plays games not naming a qb but it is pretty clear, Huntely will start. Now, can he go turnover free, make that one or two big plays that extend one or two important scoring drives?
  8. I agree, fortify the offensive line, get a top receiver talent to go with Bateman. Get depth on defense, let us see what Huntley can do. If he fails or is just proved to be a solid backup, go into the 2024 draft after a qb to groom with a great offensive line and strong defense. The direction the Ravens go in the draft will depend on what happens with Lamar. My guess for this year is, if the Ravens keep winning, Lamar hurries back, if not, he sits out the rest of the season Luke last year.
  9. So, we will know by tomorrow if Huntley will play since he practiced fully today. If he has no issues tomorrow, he should be a go
  10. Head aches, light sensitivity, sound sensitivity, as well as what you mentioned, memory. Been there, done that many, many times. If he had a mild concussion, he is likely to play, those symptoms only last a day or so. More severe, the symptoms linger. Knowing how much he wants to play, how much the team needs him, he might try and ignore the symptoms and try to fool the doctors. The hit looked worse than it was, my bet is, he plays.
  11. History shows that Watson can be easily confused by mixing up pre & post snap reads, then taking away his first read. When he has to use the entire play clock to understand the coverage, then look to his 2nd read, he tends to rush the throw, throw off balance, throw picks. We said the defense would get two passes thrown their way last week, we were wrong, they had 3 thrown to them and, they caught em. Watson will throw them 4, how many will they catch? Will they be in the passing lanes? Deep linebacker drop into the seams of the deep zone taking away those crossing routes the Browns like to run? We want to know!
  12. How is JK feeling after all of that work? Who will play quarterback? How is Stanley feeling after all of that work? Williams? While it is a short week, it is only short by 1 day, so that should not be a problem. But I get the sneaking feeling, or is that a sinking feeling, that this game is going to be a route. It shocks me to say/type that knowing that this defense has owned Watson ever since he came into the league and played against them. This defense is courageous, but their propensity to miss tackles, to blow a coverage, to not keep containment in pocket and on the edge in the running game where Cleveland has killed them over the years, makes me weary that a come back to earth game is in store. We said that the defense would have to win the game against the Stillers and they did... Sadly, I think the offense is going to have to and if they can't put the ball in the endzone, this will be ugly.
  13. Just read on Ravens dot com that they should be around $40 mil under the cap next season, not counting cuts. That should be enough to sign both and maybe a free agent or two...
  14. Well, Wilson is certainly not living up to his contract. Murray has not either and now it appears (non contact knee injury trying to cut) he is lost for a year. Are these, reading the "tea leaves", hints to not go for a humongous, guaranteed contract? Perhaps...
  15. The problem is, in the Ravens history, they have never drafted nor developed a true number one wide out. Yes, Duggan looks promising, as do 3 or 4 other prospects. Maybe they wait a year for Caleb Williams, the "next Patrick Mahomes". But history tells us that even Williams may be a bust. Purdy looks good after a game & a half, and don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching him play in college, big fan of his. But Zappe also looked good for the Pats, for a game or two. Wilson for the Jets had his moments. Shoot Goeff is looking renewed in Detroit, Smith in Seattle, we've seen all of them before, one game, one year wonders. Shoot, Fitzpatrick made a long career of having great games, incredible plays, but never in the playoffs...
  16. If the running game sustains, and the defense keeps making drive stopping plays, then all that is needed is a passing game to augment, to fill in, to keep drives alive. Sure the big pass play is exciting, helps to infuse life into the team. But a 7-8 minute drive ending in a touchdown, now, that does as well and keeps the defense rested, the other offense off of the field. I know, I know this isn't the 2000 Ravens defense, they have laspes in coverage, miss tackles, don't get consistent pressure on the pocket. Even when they do, they tend to lose containment, etc... But if they can clean up the redzone on offense, score tds instead of field goals, maybe, just maybe....
  17. Something to keep in mind, look what the Jets are going through. How many first round quarterbacks have they drafted over the past 6-7 years? Yet they are still searching for one, they win despite bad qb play wit a good defense and running game. But they still lose more games than they win. I wouldn't want to be the Biscuit trying to decide whether to pay Lamar or not...
  18. They traded for him, a relatively high pick, knowing what his contract expectations are, so I would be shocked if they don't sign him long term, five years at least, 7 maybe to stretch out the signing bonus
  19. That's good stuff Max, wins like this build strong foundations. When you can win on the road against a div opponent, with a quarterback you just plucked off the street, man oh man does it bring a team together
  20. Yeah, the same coach Tomlin who stepped onto the field when Jaccoby Jones was returning a kick for a clear & easy touchdown, slowing Smith down... yeah, that Tomlin who claimed he "lost where he was on the sideline", it was "not intentional",, yeah sure Mike, know what day it is? It's a Stiller loss day! Bahahah
  21. Yeah, I think after the last few weeks it is clear, Smith is to be the priority signing
  22. Well, Brock Purdy is currently playing extremely well in San Fran, so maybe the Ravens will have found their own version in Brown with some practice if Huntley is not cleared...
  23. Right! Gus averaged 51 yards (66 yards on 13 carries), JK, 8 (15 carries 120 yards and a score) Even when they knew all that we were going to do wad run.. major props to the offensive line, 215 rushing yards, 309 total yards, 32:59 in time of possession
  24. Victory formation! Can you believe it! The defense won this game today, the offensive line was incredible, over 200 yards rushing 16-14 Ravens! 9-4 baby!
  25. Steelers out of time outs 2:14 3rd and 3 Fake jet sweep, Gus to the right, first down! 2 min warning
