Nice play by Queen and Stephens, 4th down, they are going for it again need 2 yards
-
Smith is an animal, a tackling machine for no gain
-
Naked boot, easy throw for a first down against Stone
-
What's up with the short kickoff? It's not that windy, come on D we need a touchdown
-
4 man rush, tries to throw a swing pass to Dobbins, well behind him, incomplete. Terrible route combinations, again, in the redzone. Tucker is good, 6-0 ravens, yippie. Second time in the redzone, second time Oliver was open down the seam and Huntley can't make an accurate pass. 2nd time he hit someone down the sideline for a 30+ yard gain to get them into the redzone. Now if Roman would just call proper routes for the redzone. The Falcons are only rushing 4 on pass plays in the redzone, there should be plenty of protection
-
He finally connects with Oliver for 7 yards.. 3rd and 4
-
Now a qb sweep, oy
-
Hey they used play action, what happened? Linebackers sacked right up, Oliver was wide open, bad pass. Now he hits Andrews down the sideline for 30 yards
-
If Roman sticks to Roman, after a 5 yard run he will empty the back field with a full back split out and throw deep passes...
-
2nd series starting near mid field, Dobbins for 5 as the 1st quarter ends, 3-0 Ravens
-
The defense is playing very well, leaving the rookie with little room to throw or run.. well done
-
Once again, Roman kills a drive. Sure, Oliver was open for a big gain if the pass was on target, but why, why empty the back field and throw? Even Oliver had two guys on him. Put guys in a position to succeed, use play action, draw the backers up for a split second and Oliver is a little more open. Run the ball, make them stop you, they stopped them once one run play.
-
They, teams, have found a weakness in the guards on field goal kicks, this is not good
-
3rd and 11, a pass for 6 to Likely, Tucker time, again... 55 yarder into the wind is blocked again
-
No play action, empty back field, throw that to the post and Oliver scores
-
Boom, Gus with a nice move to slip a tackle, 15 yards
-
That's it, Gus for 5, pound them
-
Now run the dag gone ball, 2 carries by Dobbins, 16 yards, keep it going
-
Nice job scrambling and keeping your eyes down field, and Sammy turning up field for 40 yards. Then Roman jokes, calls a tight end screen, same one Huntley over threw a series earlier but to the opposite side. That too was well covered, they should have pump faked that and had Sammy go into the endzone, easy score if they had..
-
Oh my gosh, he had Andrews wide open for 7, take the hit Tucker time....
-
He doesn't have much more than Huntley. Neither is more than a game or three back up in this league.
-
They would need the Phins or the Pats to lose
-
Ho-Ho-Ho the Falcons are just the present the Ravens need to bring joy to all of the Ravens' fan girls and boys.

When a player is wide open, the qb has time, and the pass is: 1)in the dirt 2)behind him 3) is so far above them they have to get a 20 foot extension ladder out to get a few fingers tips on, that is on the qb if the pass is not caught. Don't get me wrong, there have been many real drops, but not as many as a lot of the don't blame Lamar camp would have people believe. Are these the best wide outs? No But do you or these YouTube heroes, know the timing of said routes? Let us start there. A 3 step drop is for timing, a quick, short pass, in the flat, an out, an in, a comeback. A slant, a slot or tightend option route at the level of the linebackers. A 5 step drop can also be a timing route, a comeback, a square out, (I'm showing my age), or in, a shallow cross, behind the backers, or a back shoulder throw down the sidelines. A 7 step drop is for deep patterns, both inside and outside the numbers, a ton of route combinations too many to mention. If a qb takes a 3 step drop when it should be a five step, and has Noone open, whose fault is it for him being sacked, have to wait, running? Certainly not the wide out. Same for 5 & 7 steps. There is a reason for 3, 5,7 step drops, it gives the receivers time to get to the top of their routes, the qb time to determine post snap if it matches up with what he read presnap. Some of the problems have not been because of the skill level of the wide outs. It has been because the qb, Lamar, Huntley, have taken an improper drop. It doesn't matter if it was from under center nor in shot gun, the steps, the pat on the ball, matter immensely. But you won't hear the pundits crying how bad the receivers are telling you about how bad Lamar's steps are on each pass play. Yes, a lot of the issues are because of Roman and his route combinations, some on the receivers ability to run those routes. Some on the drops, but a large portion is on Lamar, his inaccuracy this year, last year, and his timing on the drops. Yes, you can take the 3, 5, 7, steps too slow or too quickly, as well as taking the wrong number.

Again, one says drops, another, very difficult catch because of an inaccurate pass. Should be caught? Okay, they are pros, but a properly thrown pass will be caught Oh and yes I will gladly sit down with that YouTube and discuss this over film, I bet he either changes his tune or kicks me off his "show"
