  1. As I said Max, I understand the pick, the value was great. Time will tell if one of the players the Ravens needed that were drafted after Dobbins and before their pick at 60 will turn out to be better. I am fine with the draft this far, it is how it played out, Higgins being there for the start of the 2nd round was a shock, I am sure especially to the Bengals. He would have been a great addition to this team, maybe..... Could the Ravens have been able and willing to trade back into the first to nab Higgins? Only Magnum will know I suppose, possibly Zeus & Apollo, but they are "barking madd"... These guys, aside from our great first pick, will be in training pads for a while. We have our return man for sure, if kickoffs are still a thing.
  2. Well, 4 picks in the 3rd, all 4th to 5th round players. Got a road grader at guard who can't pass block: but a hard worker with potential. Finally a fast wide out with great hands, but he can't run routes and doesn't adjust well to the ball in the air, nor does he do well with tight coverage. An undersized defensive linemen who gets pushed out of the way in run stopping and doesn't get off the ball quickly. Even Harris is a potential guy, but he lacks instincts, gets fooled easy on play action... Look, this draft went against the Ravens, all of those great wide outs went early and often. I guess Cinci didn't want to trade out of the 1st pick in the 2nd... Hopefully these players turn out, but they were all reaches save for Dobbins who was a great value pick, if unneeded. I guess this means the end of the wind blown back after the team reached for him a draft or two ago.... No way they keep 4 backs..
  3. Don't know Max, are those 4 players going to make the roster? It all depends on who they draft now. Trading back at this point while drafting a runningback earlier makes the rb pick look stupid. Don't blame the playoff loss nor the running game taking a hit on the Ingram injury. That was all play calling and poor play. Gus was running well; Dobins is a nice back but he is not Jamal Lewis, not even close my friend.
  4. Trade 2nd, 2nd round pick to the Pats.....
  5. Sure they are, neither is very reliable as a consistent pass catcher, both run well when no one is covering them, and they both get nicked up easily
  6. Wow, head scratcher, value pick but rb was not a position of need jeepers
  7. They already have a Shenault in Boykin; same player they don't need him. Higgins is a different animal all together. Great hands, strong, fights for the ball, adjusts to it in the air and knows how to use his body to keep the defender away. He is also very good off of press coverage, something Shenault nor any of the current Raven receivers are not skilled. 2 2nd, 2 3rds, I expect, if they keep em both, for them to get a very good lineman for the offense, maybe a raw tackle who can play inside, like Jones from Houston...
  8. Eh, not thrilled with Lewis, he gets lazy often, typical Bama lineman, his success is more on the talent he plays against & with. If you watch him against the better teams he doesn't show up.. I would prefer Davis from Auburn, much better prospect.
  9. Use a 3rd & a 4th to move up for Higgins, get a 7th back or a low pick next year. Other shots, Epenesa from Iowa, Delpit, LSU and Winfield Jr, Minnesota. I know, they dont really need another safety or corner but those later two would be great value and lock the secondary down for years. Mims is interesting in the 2nd, but I question his hands, route running etc. More of a late 3rd pick imo.
  10. Yep, trade up as high as you think you need to go to get him.
  11. I hope that Murray is gone when the Ravens pick. I know I am in the minority on him, but I've seen pretty much every game of his career. If you look past the stats and watch his real play you see a lot of holes. He struggles/ gets lost in coverage, alot. He guesses often on run plays, resulting in missed tackles, big plays. Yes, he is quick and pretty fast for his size and position, but I don't think he is worth a 1st round, even late, pick. Queen I like a lot, great instincts, seems to figure the game plan for the offense out more as the game goes on; reason why he seems to excel in the 4th quarters where a lot of players fade. I do agree papa, this pandemic has me looking at this team and the next few drafts differently. This team cannot afford to miss wide outs any longer. This draft, even the few drafts have some serious talent in them. This team needs on badly, one who owns the field, who makes the plays in the 4th when they game is on the line or makes tough catches to keep series alive, for points, for eating clock, for keep away. A middle backer, a guard/center, a wide receiver. Then just role players.. Three players, 3 positions, pick the best and target them. If they are within reach, trade up or trade out if they are not.
  12. It's simple; limit first & foremost just camera people to show the game to the world, they can then have directors & such on radio at seperate local to switch between shots & commercial. Refs where masks or covering, players too chamging them properly at each time out. Lockerroom is scrubbed well before game and once game starts. After half scrub a dub again. No showers at the stdium, wait till you get back to thr hotel to limit exposure to feet and all. Pretry simple, a pain in the neck and no, these games will not be very dun to watch. No camp, no OtA's, very limited hitting. Should be about week 8 or nine before they are in game shape, gonna be ugly football if they go forth.
  13. My prayers are with each & everyone of you. I know this world isn't easy right now, uncertainty, doubt, fear. But don't let those three control you, believe the three who are beside you, The Father, Son and their Holy Spirit to guide you, inspire you, empower you.
  14. That is my point, they , we are finding out now you can be a carrier, not have symptoms and pass it on to someone. Let's give this thing a chance to die off, it doesn't last for ever on surfaces, 2 weeks and if you didn't get a full contamination, or if your immune system can handle it, 10 days, 2 weeks you are over it and not able to pass it on. So over the next 2-3 weeks we should see, we should know how much longer the lock down has to be. That puts into almost May. If we have to lock down through June, no way college ball can be played, let alone the NFL by September. Take away the temptation of spending hundreds of dollars people can't afford to go to a game or buy more paraphernalia they don't need or have a game day party just to drink & drive, let them save it or spend it on something they need more; baseball, basketball, shoot the Olympics are done, let football be done too, start fresh next year.
  15. Wow, he has been a great example of a Raven over the long time he has been here. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times at camp, he was always willing to talk shop, or life. He will be missed. Enjoy retirement Mister Byrne, you earned it
  16. The issue is the time is takes from contamination-carrier. You can be exposed and get it today, pass it on to everyone for 1 week or more before you even show or feel symptoms. Then it is how sick will you get for the next week? If we lose half a million people to this, do we really want college & pro football? There by endangering everyone all over again?
  17. A few years ago I would really care if they canceled, today, it bothers me not.
  18. Look, this virus is so contagious that the numbers will grow quickly. With that said, it isn't until we see the final test results from the real first wave of infected will we know where we stand. The stimulus is great for us right now but will cost this economy in the long run. Once the police, rescue, doctors, nurses get infected then we are in real trouble as a society. If it happens. They are now expecting a new wave to hit in the fall; ouch. I wrote a detailed article back when Katrina hit, how the Saints should move and why, for the betterment of NO, they should move. In short, it hinged on the payments NO had to make to the Saints, to keep them from moving out. I am not sure if that agreement is still in plaxe today. But the numbers showed how the City, even with all the concession workers, bars, restaurants, etc, and tax from that, was still loaing money having the Saints. While the math was right, I think I was wrong in agreeing with it, a year later they won it all. Even so, if that agreement is in place, you would see why NO the city is so poor. They have to cancel the season, but doing so won't hurt the teams nor the league. This country by then, may need the distraction of football, a silly game grown men play. With the shortage of toilet paper, people resorting to paper towels and napkins and who knows what, we might see more than the ecconomy truly crash. With no football, we may see a run on the banks too...
  19. So they went to get an 8 year vet from Denver, 1 year deal, 6 mil, 3 mil guarenteed for Derick Wolf... Not a bad deal, certainly better than Brockers, should have kept Pierce..
  20. Good gosh I hope not, he is not worth the money. I know, grest athlete, tremendous talent and despite it apearing that he misses a lot of time due to injury but he really has not, he is a moody, undisciplined player wanting top money.
  21. Typical Raven, let your effort be your talent if it is the only thing you have.
  22. Jimmy got a 1 year deal for $6 mil, Levine also back on a 1 year deal...
  23. Blah, blah, blah. Did they upgrade the defense? Maybe, maybe not. Campbell is a 5 maybe 6 sacks a season player who had 2 years of higher sacks. Brockers is coming off playing with a defensive front that had one player double teamed most of the time. He won't get that here.. So thus far, who they signed to the defense is a wash with who they lost or will lose. Can the 2ndary stay healthy? They haven't been able to for years.. While they played great, they also had their missed assignments & got real "lucky" with some non calls on some very big plays. Will the officiating breaks continue? Offense, Lamar, this is a very big year, he should improve. But will he? Will he throw on time, 3, 5 step let er rip? Have more consistent touch 20 yards down field on go routes? Throwing to the deep sidelines? Can he win a playoff game or atleast play well enough to win one? Super Bowl, will we even have a season?
  24. Pierce just signed for slightly less... I know, he had weight issues, but home grown and young.. I wish him the best
  25. Pierce & Brockers are equal, keep the home grown talent, unless he wanted more than Brockers. Campbell has had 2 very good years, the rest were average at best, nothing worth the money he is getting unless his best two seasons were his recent years and his recent years were when he was 25 and 25 is the present. But he is 10 years older; it remains to be seen.
