If you have to hire someone because of race or sex, creed or color, are you hiring honestly or giving into pressure, thus lying? I am for women in football, in the coaching staffs, front office etc, not just in cheer leading, which I think should be done away.... I am glad they finnally got with the times. What I don't like is when a truly qualified candidate is overlooked for a less qualified person because of race or sex. I am not saying this is the case in this instance, but I do have my doubts.

It has already begun, with most stories having some semblance like; Joe is still the starter. Espn even ran with the non-story of Jackson being used at different positions... One or two bad games, the boo birds will be out and chants for Jackson will ensue...

What if Joe Flacco wasn’t re-signed after Super Bowl XLVII?
tsylvester replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
Huh? They did what with Tyrod? Let him sit for 3 years because he reached his peak which was less than average? He has one of the best receiving cores in the league this year, as well as a great offensive coordinator, let's see how he does now. -
Joe is accurate down field, if you watch closely, when he throws off of his back foot, contrary to popular opinion. He usually over throws when he steps into the pass. Yes, he sometimes has terrible footwork on out routes that makes him miss, but look closely at every, every quarterback and you will see the same thing.

What if Joe Flacco wasn’t re-signed after Super Bowl XLVII?

The Bills drafted and devoped wide outs, they signed a few amd a few o linemen via fa, but to good deals, nothing outlandish.. There is no way of saying the Ravens would have done the same even with a small cap number for Taylor; they usually sign bad deals as we have seen and still see, especially on the offensive line. So big deal, the Ravens make, maybe 1 playoff appearence with Taylor but no way their record is much better nor would they win another ring with Taylor at qb. -

Yeah, Tyrod did so well in Buffalo, which had better receivers than this team has had.. 10 years because they would have given him 5 years, only to fail, then another 5 for any rookie they brought in and there is no guarantee they draft any of the rookies who have turned out very good since 2012... 10 years... -
Sure, because the Ravens have a history of developing receivers, said no person ever... Just because he is lining up at other positions does not mean he is playing well at them. We've seen this team try to get cute, only to cost them 15 + yards and resulting in long field goals.. Gimics don't work often in the NFL..

What if Joe Flacco wasn’t re-signed after Super Bowl XLVII?

After the Trent debacle, the fan base would have revolted had they not signed Joe. Tyrod would always be a year away from improving, a promise that would never come true. They would have wasted 10 years at least, in trying to find a qb. Joe is a pocket passer, who yes needs some decent receivers. The team, the front office let him down & not because of his salary cap, rather because of poor draft choices & free agent signings aalong the offensive line and at receiver. Go back to the draft the year before they won the Super Bowl until now, see how many duds they drafted, how many barely decent players they drafted; not a lot of starters, none that would start and last, on another team at those positions. -

Baltimore Ravens: 3 reasons they will improve in the red zone
tsylvester replied to papasmurfbell's topic in Baltimore Ravens
The play calling once they pass the 50 is horrible, Matt Cavs bad, if that doesn't change, nothing nor no one will help... -
Lol, find out who is behind you, offer them your space for a few hundred!

I would be shocked if he signed here, he clearly does not want to, so I doubt he will. With that said, it wouldn't surprise me if the team the scam from office still wanted him ..

This seems to happen every year since the new rules have been implemented, more evidence Harbs needs to go....

The sham of the line getting better as the year went on was only because the plays stopped being deep routes, just being 10 yards or fewer. Stanley is average at best, weak in run blocking. Yanda is older now, morw injury prone.. Skura might be ok, but they have no real center. I agree about Siragusa, tough if not impossible to come back from. Brown maybe working hard but he still will struggle against quicker, smaller defenders in pass blocking and who know how he will do in run blocking, he was not very good in college, no matter what anyone says, he just got in the way of the defenders, never really drove them off the ball. This line is the biggest question mark, even over health.

Of those mentioned it is par for the course, a major reason they are players for the Ravens...

I love the college game. I used to love the NFL game so much that nothing could keep me from watching or going, not a birthday, not a wedding, nothing. I even had 4 blogs/ columns about the team, the league, went to every training camp when they allowed fans.... But as we have talked about for a few years now, the changes the leqgue is making, from game play to league rules, yes, I even studied the CBA and salary cap, that now if there is a decent movie or show on, if church runs long or has a gathering afterward, I have no problem missing a game. I don't watch the night games no matter who is playing. Even the super bowl goes off at 9pm when I go to bed, don't judge, I sleep when I can, I have a special needs son. With the latest changes and rulings, with where I see the league going, this will be my last year watching at all, curiosity of how the Ravens will do, how a few players on other teams will do, is the only reason. And like you Dee, I have not and will not miss it at all.

"It's clear he (Flacco) will be the starter" did not need to be in there; #itstartsearly. Oy

The O's fans have hope every spring and by summer, it is gone with the wind... I "hope" this team isn't turning into O's part II

Yeah, Steve gets it, allowing the front office to continually be up against the cap, face massive dead money because of bad contracts. Allow the front office to make draft picks even the fans can easily see will not pan out. Take "leaps of faith" with draft day projects when there are more developed players still available & at a position of need. Allow the coaching staff to keep failing at developing players, the medical staff to keep failing to help players stay healthy. One or two seasons of injury is one thing, but every year for the past almost decade? Yeah, we as fans are "lucky" two Super Bowl Championships in 22 years, one catch away from a 3rd appearance, a missed field goal from over time away... Nonetheless, after fleecing the fans with higher ticket prices, and exorbitant concessions prices for years only now, after another failed season where attendance has dwindled, does he try to lure them back.....
