Bateman has the talent to be an alpha in Baltimore with NFL-ready route-running skills. He should immediately complement Marquise Brown atop the Ravens starting corps. Baltimore then returned to the position to add Wallace, who slipped due to injury concerns. Wallace has the skills to be a steal as a route technician with strong hands and a solid catch radius. Bateman and Wallace joined a receiver corps that included Brown, Sammy Watkins, Devin Duvernay, Miles Boykin and James Proche. It's the deepest group of offensive coordinator Greg Roman's tenure. Roman believes the additions this offseason will open up the passing offense for Lamar Jackson. "I don't want to call it an embarrassment of riches, but when you talk about Hollywood and Devin and Miles, I really feel good about the guys we have," Roman said, via the team's official website. "This offense is really one that runs through Lamar. We're always going to do what gives us the best chance to win. When you add talent like that, it's really going to expand our profile quite a bit, actually. To play with the kind of balance that we really want to play with. "I really think it will probably take some pressure off guys that have been here like Marquise, free him up a little bit as well. The field's about 53 yards wide, and I think people are going to have to defend all 53 yards of it." Ravens GM Eric DeCosta took issue with criticisms of his receiver corps ahead of the draft, saying those disparagements were "insulting." DeCosta's actions speak louder than words. Using his first pick and a valuable mid-round selection on wideouts with polished route-running skills underscored his desire to upgrade the group in the draft. Last offseason, the storylines revolved around Jackson's efforts to improve as a passer. The season, it's been about the franchise's plans to buffer the QB with as many weapons as possible. DeCosta swung and missed at bringing in JuJu Smith-Schuster before landing on the former first-round pick Watkins in free agency. He then doubled down in the draft. In his three drafts as general manager, DeCosta has used six selections on wideouts, including first-round picks in Bateman and Brown. Assets have been sunk in improving the passing game once again. Roman believes this is the year that the Ravens can take advantage of defenses selling out to stop Jackson and the rushing attack. "Definitely some things that people are going to see from us that they haven't seen before," Roman said. "Our staff is working really hard and diligently on that. When you really look at who we have to beat in the AFC these days, you've got to have talent everywhere. There's some really good teams out there. I really feel great about what we're building here. Schematically wise, we're always going to change it a little bit. I'd probably say more so this year than we did last year.

As usual, some great undrafted talent brought in by the Ravens, I wonder if they try for Dylan Moses, the over hyped Bama middle linebacker. Maybe going undrafted will humble him enough to truly learn how to use his talents

I like the Cleveland pick, solid choice for sure. As much as I love the Wallace pick and to some extent the Bateman pick, skepticism has set in, history of failure at judging this position or developing them sets deeply in. The rest of the guys are all developmental players, good ceilings if they can reach them, but.....can they? We shall see.. Will they become solid starters, or end up like many of the others who had potential but ended up busts?

Let's see if the Ravens bolster the safety position with a real safety; Hamsah Nasirildeen, Florida State. Good instincts, size, decent speed.. He needs some coaching of course at this point of the draft, but he would be a solid pick and good addition to this team

He just started playing corner, this was a reach all of the way. He has potential, measurables, but that is about it. I don't understand this pick, even just for special teams, he likely would have gone much later, maybe even undrafted.

One guy who needs a little work, but he is a short yardage beast. Another, eh, practice squad maybe, very very raw...

Right on man! To coin a phrase back in time when we all got along, agreed to disagree. This was back before we had commercials where our food walked and talked amd people ate, even when food ate it each other. Oh wait, farmers amd their families have been doing that for centuries. We can blame tv, movies, video games for giving people ideas, for desensitizing kids, people to voilence. Remember scared straight, wonder how well that worked out for those kids, I know they tried to revive that show... I do think the media plays some roll, the shows that promise to fix our problems, the ones telling us how we "should feel" how "wrong" thinking or believing something is; sorry, this is America; we are free to think and feel as we want, that is one major reason our ancestors came to this country, built this country. This includes, sadly, being a rascist, a fascist, what ever, it's your right. What isn't your right is to keep me from thinking, being different. Funny, those shows, the media, are actually being anti-American.

The truly sad part is that people read what they want to see, not what is really there; media. Yes, this article did a fairly good job of separating the gun violence, but they missed by including all of it under one head line grabbing statement; mass shootings. "Shoot", pardon the pun, a vast, vast majority of the mass shootings, the gun violence is done by shhh, GANGS! Just look at Chicago for the perdect example, it is "nothing" for them to have 50 people shot over a weekend, to have a mass shooting of 5 or more at a "child's birthday party. Tell me, why is that, gang related mass shooting, not having flags at half staff, headlines in every news agency? Yet when they talk about gun violence, mass shootings, those 50 people are included, those 5+ people killed at a gang birthday party are included. Gun laws? Maine has the loosest gun laws in the nation for the most part, how many shootings, mass killings happen there? Chicago/Illinois has some of the strictest.. I'm not sure what the answer is, gun laws are tight, strict for the most part, if a person wants to kill a lot of people, they will find a way, gun or no gun, the B word is easy to find out how to make them on the web, get supplies at your local groccery store... But for the love of all people, filter out those shot/killed with illegal guns by gangs, from those killed/shot with legal guns done out of "desperation".....

A report just came out stating that 21 of the 22 horses killed as a result of injury sustained at the track had pre-existing conditions known to the equestrians though they "did not grasp the significance of major pre-existing lessions". Then they should be fired, really, they didn't think a bone lesssion would lead to a break? 2 more horses have died this week, at the Del-Mar track, 4 since Nov 6th. Now were I a conspiracy nut, I would say this was purposely a done to detract from that horrible Santa Rosa track. As I said in my other post, Del -Mar is suppose to be the safest track....hmmm
